In my experience, this cup brush was about half the price of the model marketed by the local hardware store, and it works the same. Is it a matter of one being American made vs. one being Asian made? It could be, but this brush works the same as the American brush. Do they both wear out, and do they both throw off wire bristles? Yes. (Wear goggles and coveralls/gloves.)

You do need to have a drill or motor with a decent amount of power, and lower RPMs to use this thing, but it gets the work done! Word of caution.....go easy with this thing if you care about not getting your wrist broke! I'm 6-3", 240 and this thing can yank me around if I'm careless, if you're a smaller less strong person, maybe opt for something a bit smaller.

This works perfectly. My only complaint would be that I'm not stronger. This combined with my heavy duty large grinder put my arms through a workout.

Man this suckers big. One I mean it's a workhorse for sure but it is big and heavy I guess that's what I bought it for so I got what I paid for!

This was just what I needed for my project. It held up great. I used it on a metal trailer bed, that had thick spray on bedliner. I did not notice any of the wires coming out. It looks like I hardly used it, even though I used it very hard for a couple hours. So I will get many more uses out of this wire cup brush.

This is an update of my previous 2 star review to a 5 star review. The update will follow the original review.Kind of pricy. At first I loved it, but it has developed a vibration that keeps getting worse, given its large mass it is more of a massage for my hands than anything. It kind of feels like its going to to explode, so I only use it when my smaller 4.5" cup won't cut it. I use these for cleaning dross off of CNC plasma cut parts on a daily basis.Update it turned out that the wobble I was feeling with this cup installed was actually a problem with my grinder itself, and it was only manifest when this large wheel was on it. As time went on the problem worsened to the point I saw screws backing off on the gear housing, I tightened them using loctite and the vibration disappeared. I just ordered another one.

I have to strip a LOT of rust off the top of my cargo container.This cup brush is a serious rust remover.This is an awful job no matter how you do it, but this is seriously the right tool for it.I have another finer wire conventional wire cup brush the same size and it is no where near as good.If you need a really aggressive wire cup brush, this is it.

Used to strip a rusted roof on a car. It did not rip thru the paint and rust like I thought it was going to. Ended up using a nylon wheel instead.
