I am highly critical of almost every tool, but this particular drill bit exceeded my expectations. I wanted a cobalt alloy bit but I wanted to get it that same day and this was the closest thing in a 25/64. I must say this is a well designed bit and WAYYY outperformed the Klutch Cobalt bit I got in a local hardware store earlier that day broke on the second hole (barely poking through but did not finish) This dewalt bit went on to finish what the Klutch cobalt alloy had started before and then started and finished 2 more holes in the frame of my F350. I did not expect it to perform so well! I returned the (snapped in half..)Klutch cobalt bit to the hardware store, and I’m keeping this one as it seems to be in practically new condition after 2.5 holes through a solid steel frame! Kudos to dewalt!

Drilled 72 holes through 1/4" angle iron, and it cut the 72nd hole nearly as easy as the 1st hole. Admittedly, I used a lot of cutting oil in the process and did all drilling in 1 to 2 second intervals to mitigate heat buildup. But still, I've had less success with way more expensive drill bits.

Perfect for my application (cross drilling a dowel to accept smaller 3/8" dowels that needed to be removable). Churned through oak like butter. Was careful not to push through 100% to avoid tear out. I allowed the pilot point to just break the surface on the exit side, flipped the work around and completed the drilling.
