This is the 3rd relacement of the idler assembly (2 O'reillys). After receiving the kit, I realized my truck needed the short shaft idler assy (been through this before at O'reillys). After mounting the idler arm on the bracket assembly, I used a cutoff saw to remove 7/16 of the 12 mm hex shaft, then installed the unit. I then installed the remainder of the kit. The outer tie rod end shafts were too long (just like previous replacements) so I double nutted using one used castle nut turned upside down to install the cotter key. The replacement went well since I use aluminum anti-seize when replacing parts like this. I will be ordering another kit to store away for future use in case of parts shortage from China.

This is the 2nd time that I have bought this part, not because it is bad, but because it is extremely durable. I now have 2 GM trucks, both needed the steering and suspension replaced. Detroit Axle stands by the products that they sell and will buy from them again.
