I love this so much. I don’t use it frequently, only when I see some redness on my LO’s bum. I usually apply motherlove birth and baby oil since it’s all natural. However when there’s redness I apply desitin at every diaper change and voila! The redness is gone after 1-5 applications depending on how bad the redness is. Our LO had what looked like a fungal infection maybe when she was about a month old (new parents, we didn’t know we had to air dry or pat dry her bum before putting on her diaper), and we applied desitin and within a few days it was completely gone. I wouldn’t recommend it for every diaper change, I prefer natural ingredients, but this def works great when needed!

Putting together a baby shower basket and loved the convenience of Amazon to just click and order everything I need and not go store to store! Great brand items!

At 13 % zinc this ointment is not harsh for baby bottoms and still protects them against diaper rash. My grandkids are still on baby formula and as a concerned grandparent I try to change their diapers every 2 to 3 hours and use desititin ointment when changing them knowing they are protected,

So, I’ve been using this cream for a week now, in combination with two moisturizers, and it’s working greatly.Over a year ago, I pretty much ruined my skin. It became extremely rough, dry, thickened, irritated, etc from accidentally using a product with an exfoliant too often.I’ve tried so many things to repair my skin, but nothing has worked. I’m always being told to just use a cream and layer an ointment over it. This never worked for me. Even the thickest ointments seem to dry out and spread everywhere but the spot I need it on.A little over a week ago, I decided to try using this product as my occlusive rather than an ointment, and the results have been amazing. What I do is shower, massage a mixture of cream and ointment into my skin, and apply a layer of this over it after it’s sat on my skin for a minute. After this, I just reapply once or twice as needed. Don’t wash it off until your next shower, just smooth more on too keep a strong barrier so you’re preventing moisture loss. This has worked better than any traditional occlusive method I’ve ever used. This Desitin Zinc Oxide Cream is smooth when applying on the skin, feels lightweight and comfortable, but sticks to the skin, and forms a FAR superior barrier than a petroleum ointment such as Cerave, Aquaphor, or Vasoline. As a result, this product really helps deliver other topical products into your skin, as any good occlusive emollient should. Plus. Zinc Oxide is great for healing skin. I’ve had long time skin cracks that have healed in just a few days. While it’s a great product for diaper rash, it’s ability at helping to restore your moisture barrier, when used in combination with a moisturizer, is highly underrated. I would highly recommend trying it if you have stubborn rough, dry, cracked, irritated, thick skin that just won’t heal.
