Installed on a 1967 Chevy c10, have dual exhaust and brake line is very close to exhaust pipe. Was easy to put on and seems very secure with the included clamps

Horrible product, cheaply made.I should have read the bad reviews before buying. They are all true.Bulky and cheap rivets.Fabric rips just by looking at it.Must wear gloves, cause you will end up with an annoying fiberglass itch.It might be good for you if you like some put it further down the exhaust line. The closest you get to the header the higher the risk of this catching fire.

I bought this because Miata folks say that the downpipe and cat send a lot of heat into the cabin. So I installed this right near the end of the downpipe almost to where it bolts to the midpipe, there's not a ton of places to put something like this to where you'd feel it, other than for protection for actual melting etc.Definitely noticed the cooler footwell temps with this now. Can place your hand near the little padding on the carpet near the gas pedal and it's sometimes barely warm but otherwise almost dead cold. Awesome work DEI!

Used this to replace a metal heat shield on 4 inch diesel exhaust. Shield is to protect airbags installed. Metal shield lasted a couple of years before it was just gone!. Had to buy 5 inch stainless hose clamps, since ones that come with the 6 inch wide will only go up to a 3 inch pipe. Clamps were available at big box hardware store for about $3.50.

It's okay, what is interesting is that it says it is good up to 1350 degrees however exhaust heat gets up to 1600 degrees... I highly recommend wearing gloves when installing the product as it has fiberglass in it. Will see how well it works

I bought these to protect my new air bags under the RV (W22). The old air bags got blistered and leaked the air out because of the location near the exhaust. I installed these to protect the replacement air bags. Installation was simple but takes time. I just fed the pipe clamps around the pipes and moved them around to be where the needed to be and tightened them down. I didn't have any problems with the rivets or material, both seemed pretty solid even with pushing and pulling to get them into place. First trip was 475 miles one way in Florida heat and highways, had no smells or heat problems with the air bags. I believe most of the negative reviews are from motorcycle installs. A wrap might be better suited to the task. When you tighten them down if the edge contacts an object before the clamp is tight I think that is how the rivets are being torn out. Either use a smaller clamp or don't buy these if you don't have the clearance to tighten them down. You need to account for the stand off distance and thickness of the material to know if these will fit your application.
