Right out of the box, both of the units I ordered has rust forming underneath the handles. This should not happen with new items, but screams about the quality of the materials, and being true stainless steel. Items felt solid, but no way did this seem to be sanitary. Returning both and ordering elsewhere.

I have 3 stainless steel fermenters (7 gallons each). I replaced the original ball valves that came with the fermenters with 3 piece sanitary ball valves. However, after 2 back-to-back infections, I realized that I needed to take apart the ball valves and soak them each time (note the infection did not come from the valves, but better safe than sorry). While the ball valves worked fine, I did have trouble dumping the trub on certain batches given the diameter of the bottom ball valves. I thought about replacing the ball valves with butterfly valves, but they were too expensive and I did not see a need. When I saw the price on these, I thought I would given them a try. I am glad I did.They are nicely built and are very beefy and heavy. They made dumping trub easier given their interior diameter (1 1/2"). In addition, they are very easy to clean. No more need to take the valve apart to soak it in PBW. The only downside I have found is that it more difficult to control the flow of liquid than the ball valves. However, I knew that going in and this does not create any problems for me.Overall, I am very happy I made the switch.

Stainless all over, nice tight fit, I've used it under 15 PSI a few times with no hint of a leak.

i bought 7 of these valves and 5 of them had loose valve body screws! I've never bought valves that I had loose screws to tighten! otherwise the valves seem to be working OK, no leaks so far.

Great valves. I’m using one on the brewhouse manifold and another on the fermenter for CIP-ing. The handle perfectly fits my hand grip and the gasket inside wasn’t too tough, so I don’t need to work really hard to open/close or adjust positioning. I would buy again.Cheers
