Reinstalled four times, would not leak for 6 months a then starts pissing oil everywhere. Leaking at the block, leaking at the hose clamps, leaking at the fittings, leaks everywhere. Each time I was very meticulous to seal and clamp perfect with good compression clamps that dont chew the rubber hose and thread sealer on the fittings. Stayed leak free for about 6 months each time. Going back to the old messy stock filter location, cant deal with this anymore. Junk

This gave me what I wanted, a remote and much larger filter for the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L. It converts to the old standard Ford size which probably filters 3x the amount of dirt the little stock filter did. Easy to get to for oil changes. I had to come up with my own bracket and zip ties to route the hoses, which was expected. The only difficulty was in getting the hose fittings tight enough in the adapter to keep them from leaking. Admittedly they are under about 50 PSI pressure with the engine running, but even though I used a large crescent wrench to hold the adapter while installing the fittings, they leaked the first try. I used a larger ratchet/ socket the second try and no leaks in about 2,000 miles so far. Make sure the hoses have no tight radius bends and don't rub and they should last. The mounting bolts are a bit of a pain to reach but I considered that in the location chosen, predrilled the holes in the body and with a combination wrench was able to tighten the bolts just fine. I spent maybe an hour considering different locations and their relative difficulty for installation and actual filter changes. Hindsight 20/20, In this application, I would have gone with the side entry mount so the filter could hang vertically, so I could pre-fill it with oil during changes, but aside from that it worked well.

Perfect for my 2010 F-150 5.4. No leaks and straight forward. No leaks yet about 1 month in.My loss of a star is gor two things. First the oil filter mounting bracket needs some work. Mounting it is a pain you can get an impact driver on two of the three mounting holes.The other is it uses a different filter. Though there are filte adapters made that would take you back to stock 820s filters. This kit uses a ph8.

Got it installed today FINALLY had to fab up my own bracket to fit and tie wrapped hosed down, need to get some high heat insulation as they are close to exhaust manifold. I also had to die grind some on the castings to create better transitions and remove flashing from casting process. With the extra lines and larger filter it added oil capacity by 3/4 more quart.CHANGING STARS, see below. hose blew out at 4500 miles after 1st oil change (it dripped from first install.) Re positioned hose clamp and hose split at end of fitting while driving now have possible engine damage... Aluminum parts were OK hose is garbage

Installed and ran it about 500 miles before the gasket between the adapter and engine sprung a leak.Replaced gasket and drive about 2500 miles and it happened again.Hopefully I can get a refund.
