This kit was a perfect fit for my 2021 4Runner.I bought this kit because someone at the Toyota dealer must have installed the oil filter cover with an impact wrench during my last oil change service.Needless to say, the plastic OEM filter cover cracked when I tried to remove it using the stamped steel filter wrench I've used in the past on other Toyotas.The filter cover in this kit is made of aluminum, and appears to be a genuine Toyota product.The filter element appears to be genuine Toyota.The filter socket wrench that was included with this kit is better than the stamped steel socket I had in my tool box, but I do not recommend using it.Because I never want to have an issue again, I purchase the "Assenmacher TOY-640" oil filter socket wrench.It is a very high quality tool, and fits as well as physically possible to the filter cover.I used a 24" breaker-bar with my new TOY-640 to get the old stuck and cracked plastic filter cover off my engine.

This 4Runner filter kit provided everything needed to upgrade my filter cap and replace the filter element. The longer housing tube, necessary for the 4Runner, was actually pre-installed.

Finally a solution for the crappy plastic housing! Required a little modification but it is very simple and can be found online.

Anything plastic in a crucial pressurized area makes me nervous. This kit comes with what you need to replace factory parts. Be careful when installing, it is possible to screw it up. I reused my perforated core with new housing. Plenty of YouTube vids if you need help
