I put this in an engine rebuild and the engine wouldn't start. Put the old one back in and everything works fine. I guess you get a bad one every once in a while.

DO NOT BUY! These do not work. Absolute junk right out of the box. Sends the wrong signal. Flooded engine and many other things. Bought a genuine GM version and it worked right away. Spent a week testing and diagnosing. Looking at other reviews you can see MANY have had the same issue!

II rebuilt my 5.7l ls for a motor swap in my C10. I used all new parts including this delphi cam sensor. Silly me for thinking something brand new out of the box would work as expected.I finally put the motor in the truck and go to start it up, starts fine. I started it maybe 3 times. It would start and foul the plugs.. after multiple tries it would fire, backfire, and die. No engine codes were thrown.I spent 3 weeks troubleshooting the fuel, the valves, checked compression, did a leakdown test, and even replaced pushrods with shorter ones. I then bought a $1750 Holley efi kit thinking it had to be a computer problem or wiring issue. Thankfully, I decided to run a test on this sensor before I installed the Holley kit.Turns out, this brand new sensor was "working" however I found that it was reading backwards. When working correctly, it should read 0 until the cam turns by then the reading goes up. This tells the computer when to send fuel and timing and everything else.So mine was dumping all the fuel before it starts and fouling the plugs.I replaced this with a known good one and boom! all my issues were gone and the motor runs like it should.DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!

Use this piece of junk on a fresh LQ4 build for my work van. You would think that a Delphi part is OEM quality, but no, not in this case. I suspect a bad batch of parts, but who knows the real cause. All I know now, after having solved it by using an old “Known Good” sensor, is that I should have believed the review that was here when I bought this thing. There are additional threads where folks have this same p0342 p0343 issue and go digging into their harness and trying all kinds of expensive and annoying stuff, only to have it turn out to be a bad Delphi sensor.Get the AC Delco one, don’t be a sucker.

Did not work. This is supposed to be a top replacement part. Before you discount me as an inexperienced mechanic, know that: 1. yes I performed a crank shaft sensor relearn. 2 the old part was confirmed bad (not replaced on a guess). 3. I “borrowed” a known good sensor from my other truck, and it worked perfectly. So, yes I’m sure that this part was DOA…Update: I ordered a second. It does not work either. I’m going to try another brand now.Update: I ordered a 3rd cam sensor but this time from another company here on Amazon (walker). It works perfectly.Delphi needs to get their act together! They have caused me much heartache and frustration. Troubleshooting a NEW but BAD part is terrible. Then you order another NEW “high quality” part and its BAD too. You’re a good mechanic and you know what the problem is. The part is new so it should work, but now twice in a row it has not fixed the problem. You second guess yourself and start re-checking other things. Yea they cost me a lot of time and gnashing of teeth. 2 bad sensors in a row..!!!! I could have spent this weekend on other things that were more fun…2000 Silverado 5.3L
