This alarm clock makes waking up a little easier for me. I’m not a morning person at all so getting up during workdays is a struggle for me. This alarm clock gently eases me out of sleep so I also am able to wake up more alert than usual.

My son wanted this alarm clock so that he could wake up gently. Unfortunately, for him, he needs something more jarring to get him out of bed. I frequently had to wake him in the morning, and when I went into his room, this alarm clock was happily chirping away. I gave this alarm clock a high rating, since it properly delivered on its functionality...but it might not be great for teenage boys who need a more urgent kick out of bed.

We have a room-darkening curtain in the master bedroom secondary to the sun’s heat year-round. We have milder and milder seasons. As a result, I can’t use the rising sun as a visual source of the time of day. I do open it a little bit to see what I am doing once I get up. As I don’t want to use a barrage of alarms to wake up, I got this alarm. I like the form of it being an old wind up clock. Setting it is intuitive for the most part. The bad: the incremental brightness is not helpful to my awakening. I just can’t find a sweet spot for placement. That is no fault of the clock itself.

I love the simple design of this lamp. It’s very soft and aesthetically pleasing. It’s a little difficult to remember how to turn on/off and I can’t ever remember if it’s a quick press or a long one but it eventually turns on/off. I like how you can adjust the brightness by spinning the wheel in the back. Having one button that isn’t touch screen but still controls multiple features is a refreshing option to this lamp. Overall it’s a really pretty piece that adds to the mood of a room without being too overpowering.

This is a cute little bedside lamp. It’s got a bunch of different colors and display options, but they’re not that easy to figure out. Everything is operated by the click wheel on the back and there’s an entire flow chart associated with its operation. Single clicks seem to select the next function, while double-clicks change the options within each function. So, unless I’m looking at the chart, there’s a lot of guesswork involved. But, even if I can’t find the exact option that I was looking for, there are a bunch of them that look great anyway, so it doesn’t really matter where I end up. But, it’d be a much nicer lamp if it came with a remote or a more intuitive way to operate it. And it'd also be nice if it came with a USB-C power input instead of a barrel jack, but it does come with its own wall adapter, so that’s a bonus. But, aside from some of those shortcomings, it’s otherwise an adorable lamp with a lot of variations.

// DesignOverall, this is a nice looking product. It's a giant gem of color with a simple and elegant design. It doesn't weigh much and can slide along a smooth surface when you don't mean for it to. These is because there are no rubber feet on the bottom to keep it in place. It's not a deal breaker, but I think it's a much needed oversight.// BrightnessThe colors are vivid enough to really show it off, and you can use the dial to dim the brightness so it is something you can fall asleep to.// ColorsThe basic color options are pretty good, and to use them is pretty simple - just click the radial dial. You'll cycle through solid colors, gradient families (i.e. purple to dark purple), and transitions through the color spectrum (i.e. red to blue to orange... etc.)// Hidden color optionsThis is where the intuitive nature falls apart. There are hidden color options if you know how to access them. If you read the instruction diagram, you'll see that the simple colors are accessible with a single click, but some colors offer additional modes if you double click while on that color (some colors don't), and some modes are only accessible by triple click while highlighting a specific color. It's an odd engineering choice that I assume was done to keep the elegant minimalistic look and forgo adding a few extra buttons. This means people who don't read and memorize the diagram will never unlock the full potential of the light. That is disappointing.// Final ThoughtsWith that said, would I recommend it? If the design is something that is really drawing you to the product, then go for it. It is nice, even though it's underwhelming in some areas. It wasn't as impressive as I had hoped, but it is a decent piece to have on your home.
