The build quality is ok. It seems old and the software in ancient. The readings are all over the place so often times you’re not really sure of what you’re looking at. I have to really of peak reading because the display is changing so quickly. I can’t really makes sense. The display is easy to read and that’s a plus.

I moonlight as a live sound engineer sometimes. This meter is great because it logs the sound history which makes it much easier to visualize an average sound level. The factory calibration seems accurate enough compared to other sound tools I have on-hand, though I wish it was certified (I guess I need to get my own sound calibrator). Screen can be a little bright and I haven't found a way to change it. USB recharging is great and simple to use (and actually PD!).

Product seems to work stand alone just fine. I could not download files or use the computer software. Some type of incompatibility. Virtually no information online regarding this product.

Two of my hobbies are playing in an orchestra and working in my garage workshop. Both environments have the potential for loud volume levels that can be dangerous to my hearing, so I keep a close eye on it. (You haven't heard "loud" until you've sat in front of a full brass section at full volume.).Anyway, I've been carrying this DB meter with me for a few weeks now and found it to be accurate (based on professional equipment that I have available) and easy to use. The modes are comprehensive and the graph features are nice to have. The only annoyance is that it is difficult to get out of the case that comes with it. I tried putting it in the case with the big end at the top, but that just causes the wind filter to get stuck at the bottom. This is a nice piece of equipment. I recommend it.

I love this sound meter! I was about to get one that was half the price but it just displayed numbers. What I love about this meter is that it shows a graph (updated each half-second or so) of the sound level. The really great thing about this is that you can set 2 threshold levels and when the sound is below both thresholds the display is blue, when it is between the 2 levels the display is yellow, and then when it is above the upper threshold the display is red. Just exactly what I needed. It has a rechargable battery and you can even download data to your computer. If you just want to take a static sound level from time to time you can probably get away with a cheaper unit, but if you want to monitor the sound continuously then this is the product for you.

This one lands somewhere between a four and five star. The meter charged quickly on USB-C which is super as far as I'm concerned. Very tired of some devices still having micro USB.The meter is easy to set up and very very easy to use. You press and hold the red button to turn the power on and off. You tap the red button once the power is on, two cycle through various settings such as language and time. The left right arrows allow you to widen or narrow the range of readings that you see on the constantly moving dynamic graph of sound level. Like most meters of the sort, one has the option to have continuous reading, or have it hold at a peak or selected value. The only cons for this device are minor. The 1/4" socket for a tripod mount works fine, except that it is canted at a slight angle. I have a small desktop tripod that I use for my phone and tablet. Such a tripod generally does not have an angle adjustment. Unfortunately the socket for tripod mounting is located on a slightly tapered portion of the front half of the bottom of the meter. This means that if it is mounted in a non-adjustable tripod stand, the mic will be pointed slightly downward. It would have been an easy design choice to move it slightly back further, or two have made a raised step on the plastic housing so that it could be perfectly perpendicular to the direction of the microphone. This should be a tool safe change in the mold, and I hope that the manufacturer decides to make this minor and inexpensive improvement. The other disappointment, is that the meter is stated to comply with ANSI and OSHA standards, type 2. There is no documentation or certification that comes with the microphone to support that claim.Aside from those two items, this will be a fantastic tool for my hobbies. As you can see in the photo I'm recording the sound level of my 3D printers in various configurations for the purposes of subsequent reviews. I have already used the meter to gauge the sound output of two different air purifiers for comparison purposes. And lastly, it will be used to measure and verify the sound output of my giant scale model aircraft, which are all gas powered, to ensure compliance with local sound regulations. It comes with a form fitting soft-sided case. When you place the USB port and in first the microphone itself, covered with foam, is what greet you when you open the case. I don't recommend the product be stored this way, because when pulling it out, the foam and/or microphone may become damaged. If it is inserted into the case microphone end first, It may be less bad, but there is still a risk of damage to the microphone win store order being carried. Some firm foam supports placed near the bottom of the carry case would be helpful to ensure that the microphone were properly protected when the device is stored in the bag.Overall a nice meter, with a very minor quibbles, and I will certainly enjoy using this.
