Great tool at a great price. Used in my recording studio - really helps modulate temperature and humidity. Great value!

This thing is a complete piece of garbage and it doesn’t work. The readings are all over the place all the time through the entire range of the instrument flashing on the screen. I got a calibrated sound pressure meter and put it right next to it and it consistently reads 10 to 15 DB higher than it should which is ridiculous. The temperature doesn’t even work on it and the stupid smiley faces really had nothing. Avoid this at all cause it’s just a cash grab piece of garbage. I waited too long to return it now I regret my purchase in a big way.

It works but those annoying faces are extremely intrusive and worthless - you can't set the range, you can't turn them off, anyone using this will understand what the number mean without a dancing face. I am debating whether to return it or not.

I purchased this to measure the crowd sound for a competition where the crowd decided something by "getting loud". It was fun to add some objectivity to the decision. It's a nice device with a nice screen. It's solid and does just what I needed it to!

Got this for the home to put by the piano for our daughter who's a singer. She uses the decibel app on her phone all the time when she practices but recently has been trying to spend less time looking at her phone when practicing. This has most of the relevant pieces of information she looks up on the daily, only one missing is the air quality, but we have another meter for that. The display is super clear and she seems to like using it when practicing. Only thing she's complained about is that the happy/moderate/sad faces don't seem to be able to turn off as the SPL fluctuates. She said she gets a lot of frowny faces when she's practicing at a very low singing level and even though it's correct, it feels sad to get the frowny faces every time. Our house also gets pretty loud between the excitement of everyone and the dogs etc. It's nice to have a little gage on the wall that we can peak at and all agree to bring the volume down, especially before bed! This has helped to avoid the 'You're yelling' 'I'm just talking' arguments that happen around the house, because now it's 'you're speaking at 100 dB, that's really loud' and there's no arguing with that! I love that it shows the humidity too, because it's helpful to know whether or not I need the humidifier that day here in the desert, especially when trying to maintain my aging voice. Overall, it's a good product, and very easy to read once you understand the numbers! Only wish is that the emojis could be turned off or their threshold adjusted.

I'm always curious how loud things are and this meter shows me. It seems to be accurate, but I have no true way to tell. My room were I'm writing this review shows about 44 dBA. My lawn mower is about 96 dBA, so I would say it's fairly accurate. The temperature varies from 2 to 5 degrees from my indoor weather station readings and the humidity is dead on to sometimes 1 or 2 percentage points different. It has a nice large display with brightness control and battery charge indicator. The M (Menu) button controls the sampling rate: slow, medium, or fast. However, there is no indicator to show you which rate you are using. You can kind of tell by how quickly it's updating.Nothing in the product description online or in the manual tell you how long to charge it or how long it lasts on a charge. I charged it for an hour and the battery indicator stayed red the whole time. When I unplugged it from the charger it showed green. More information about charging would be helpful.Included are dry wall anchors, screws, and a template should you want to mount it on a wall. It's made in China but sold by an American company. It's fun to play with, and feels and looks like a quality product. More info on charging and a measuring rate indicator would make this a 5 star product.
