Does exactly what I need it to do for home projects on the small side. Not bad for the price. It’s fairly thick aluminum, however pay attention and be cautious about dropping it. I use a couple of small back up clamps on each end if I’m ripping or cross-cutting thinner more flexible material. I’m not as agile with a circular saw these days as I once was. It serves it purpose if used correctly and within it’s limits. Definitely not commercial/contractor grade nor is the price.

Did what it is supposed to; locks well in place, not issues with using router or saw.

I had a longer grip clam straight edge. It was long and heavy, not suitable for small jobs. This is still small and light. Very please with the purchase.

This product works great. It will clamp firmly to your workpiece and guide your saw in a perfectly straight line. If you're like me and you bought this because you just started woodworking and are trying to expand your capability without shelling out for a table saw, there are some things you should know before you start using this on your projects:1. Invest in some measuring and layout tools. Get a speed square at the very least, but a combination square is worth its weight in gold when using this guide.2. Make sure your circular saw blade is right at 90°. Coat the baseplate with some wax so it glides across the workpiece3. Decide how you're going to line up the guide on your marks and stick with it. I chose to split the pencil line.4. CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE GUIDE IS SQUARE AT BOTH ENDS. The guide WILL NOT lock down square, so check it every time. Pull on the end with the handle while you're adjusting it so when you lock it down it won't move. You can use the speed square at both ends, or run the combination square along the guide.5. Be sure to account for the saw kerf when placing the guide. Be aware that this number will change depending on which side is your "keep" side6. Apply gentle, but consistent pressure to the guide while cutting. I don't think it'll flex, but there's no need to introduce any extra forces when doing this.My first few cuts were wonky, but by the end of my first project with this guide I was dead-on to 1/32". It's definitely not a replacement for a table saw when you factor in setup time, but with a little patience you can get the exact cuts you want. Have fun!

The 'DCT Aluminum Pro Grip Clamp Straight Edge' was ordered to assist in trimming the bottom of some doors in my home. The clamp was easy to setup on the door and made the cutting by circular saw very easy and smooth. Many people say they can just follow a marked line but I was cutting to within 1/8 of an inch and did not want to have any mistakes so I wanted a straight edge to help guide the circular saw. This worked great, a straight, smooth cut with no concern of errors.
