This is the best distiller I have found. It is easy to use, clean and works as advertised. You get a great product at a very reasonable price point.

Easy to use! I have been using this for a few weeks now and I am very happy with it. This is well made and looks good as well. While it is running it does make a "humming " noise. Recommend placing this in a room away from living area. I put it in my laundry room.

I bought this so I wouldn’t have to buy, lug, and store gallons upon gallons of distilled water in my apartment to run the humidifier I use to keep my guitar from drying out and cracking in thecwinter air. This distiller works like a charm, so 4 stars. 1 star off because I do have a list of complaints:- I have very hard city water. The amount of junk left over in the metal tub after a cycle is shocking. It bakes on (stinks!) and is impossible to wipe off. Better than spewing it all into the air via humidifier though.- The cleaning process is both easier and harder than it looks. It ships with a bottle of citric acid crystals. Go ahead and order yourself a bulk 2 pound bag or two of those things, you’ll need them. Throw 3 or 4 tablespoons of crystals into a fully filled distiller tub, and run a cycle with the top off. The scale will disappear in about 30-40 minutes, no muss no fuss. I like to poke at the scale now and again with a spatula while this is going on, but I’m a neurotic overachiever. It is NOT clear or easy how (or whether?) to clean the top part with the coils and fan. Do these need to be unscrewed, taken apart, cleaned, reassembled? Who knows??- This thing uses a lot of electricity and puts out a lot of heat. I ran it about 15 times and my power bill jumped $9 for the month (from $50 to $59, so it was noticeable). That could be because winter and price increase, or distiller use. Can’t tell yet. It does release a LOT of heat. I run it in my bathroom and it makes the room into a sauna. Great for winter! Toasty tile floor! That’s not great energy efficiency though.- It’s loud! I run it in the bathroom so I can close the door. If I ran it in my apt kitchen I would not be able to hear anything else, it’s about as loud as the over-stove fan set on low.- If you have long hair and run this thing on the floor, FOR THE LOVE OF CTHULU hold your hair back when you turn this thing on. The fan on top WANTS to grab your hair. You will cry.Over all, this thing does the job and even with my list of complaints and increase in electricity bill, it’s nice having distilled water on demand instead of having to go to the store and put more plastic jugs in the recycle bin where they probably won’t be recycled anyway. And even with that $9 jump in power bill, for at least 15 gallons worth of water it’s half the price of store bought.

This device is not small, its about 16 inches tall, and the water container to the right of it is an entire gallon even though it looks like a small cup in the picture. It does heat up to make distilled water, and the process takes a good 2-3 hours to make a gallon. A cooling fan runs on the top of the unit the entire time it's in use, so you will hear a fan sound. But it does shut off automatically when it's done so you don't need to babysit it. To fill it, you must remove the top part of the unit and fill the bottom half of the unit to the "fill line". One drawback is the bottom of the stainless steel tank does get soiled with scale or build up of minerals that does not clean with general cleaner and cloth. You cannot scratch this mineral scale off with your fingernails either it feels like it's cemented onto the stainless steel. This mineral scale is all the dirt and minerals in your city water that did not get evaporated, so it kind of shows you all the stuff that you would have consumed if you did not distill it and drank from the tap. It comes with some crystals to get rid of the scale...Just add water to the stainless steel tank and poor some crystals into the water and let it run with the cover off for 15 minutes and magically all the mineral scale is removed without scrubbing or anything- I was amazed. This is a good product, I have had no problems with it, and I would recommend it.

I purchased the unit because I have a CPAP and didn't want to lug around jugs from stores to home. Easy to set up, easy to use, and not loud. Totally worth the money.

I have used more expensive water distillers of the same size and general look that have heated to a very high temperature such that when the water drips out of the spout it is very hot. This unit simply was warm to the touch on the outside container when dispensing the water - though the water drops coming out were cool, and not hot whatsoever.

My wife and I both are on CPAP so go through a lot of distilled water for the humidifiers in our CPAP.Last 2 years distilled water has been sold out in stores often. We ordered 6-gallon packs online twice, was 5x the price in the store. Water is too heavy to be inexpensive to ship. Both times the order arrived weeks late, and both times one or two bottles ruptured in delivery. To use this: you should filter the water first with a Brita jug or similar, they have those on Amazon. That will make this unit have to do less work, be easier to clean, and the unit will last longer. The directions are clear(ish) on how to use but not so much to clean. If you don't clean after each use, it will be less effective, the mineral scum at the bottom will keep the heat away from the water, and eventually the unit won't work, and the residue will be too thick to use the unit, and too hard to clean. To CLEAN:After each use, disconnect plugs and let unit sit, with an upsidedown paper plate over the top. The stuff removed from tap or well water smells a little when heated and concentrated. Let it get cool, then take the distiller outside.I pour about an inch of vinegar in the place you pour the water, the main metal part. Use the clear 5 percent vinegar, and don't spill it. You don't want to breathe this, especially if you have lung issues. Will irritate lungs. I wear rubber gloves, a filter mask and do it outside.Cover the top with upsidedown paper plate. Put on top of paper plate a fist-sized rock or an old clean boot, something heavy to keep the plate on. Leave it outside with the vinegar in it for 12 hours. If it's cold leave for more. If the vinegar freezes before you're done, it's OK.After letting it sit, I take a dedicated pot scrubber (plastic, not metal), put on my gloves and mask, go outside and scrub the scum off the bottom. Takes about 10 to 20 seconds. Then I wash it out with the hose. Don't do any of this near where any outdoor pets go, they'll hate the smell.Bring it inside, wash out with a little warm water and a little more scrubbing. Dump water down sink. Dry inside with a paper towel, and let sit uncovered for an hour or two until dry. Put the unit's top back on to keep dust out. It's now ready for the next useGood as new!We change the inexpensive activated charcoal filter 3x a year, mark it on the calendar. It came with one and one extra, but here are more on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JDBV9HYRemoving the metal clip where the charcoal sits is not intuitive, but once you know how, it's easy. Don't force it. Just gently wiggle the metal clip back and forth while gently pulling the clip away from the distiller.
