This pitcher is ergonomic and pours very well. The water tastes great. Customer service is wonderful. When I received the pitcher and installed the filter it was leaking water around the filter and not filtering it. I was planning to return it but called customer service instead. The lady was very nice and apologized for my problem. She said she would send a new filter. She also said I could try putting a little oil on the rubber gasket until the new filter arrived. This solve d the problem . Cons: the pitcher filters very slowly and doesn’t hold much water. I keep pouring it into another pitcher so I will always have a ready supply.Overall it’s a decent pitcher for the price.

As many others have said: (1) The pitcher design is terrible, water flies out of the spout horizontally or up at an angle, hardly ever *down* into your cup. (2) While the filtered water initially tastes fine, it's only about three or four weeks before it starts to smell and taste bad. At fifteen dollars a filter, that's ridiculous. I'd be OK with a two-month lifespan, but this is unacceptable. BTW there are only two of us in the household. We use water for coffee and cooking, that's all. So, be warned. I do not recommend you purchase this product.

My meter had the faucet water at 149, the old filter pitcher water at 91, and the Zero filtered water at 0. Made me feel a lot better about drinking water. I filter the water then transfer it to a glass pitcher with a sealed top and leave on the counter ready for drinking and cooking so I already have some filtered water ready to go and dont have to wait on it to filter through. This is my first Zero filter so I do not know yet how long it will be effective. The instruction book shows an expected guideline for changing the filter based upon different tap water contamination levels. Change the filter when your filtered water reaches 6.

This is by far the best stand-alone pitcher filter you can buy because it filters more chemicals and particulates than any other brand. The only thing that beats this is a R.O. system (reverse osmosis) installed in your house which requires connecting it to your current water pipes and usually costs at least $600, and still requires expensive filter changes. This is easier and roughly the same price in the long run if you add up all costs over a 10yr period of this pitcher+filters vs an R.O system+installation+filters. The tap water here is pretty bad with around 420ppm and tastes like chlorine and a little iron or similar metallic taste, but once I use the ZeroWater pitcher it is 0ppm and tastes like VOSS. Fiji is my favorite bottled water, but that has some minerals which make it taste very good but just slightly gritty when rubbing my tongue to the roof of my mouth whereas this filtered water is like VOSS which is almost like distilled water which is 100% pure water with nothing else in it. Project Farm on Y0uTube did a very great scientific comparrison between major brands of pitcher filters such as Brita and PUR barely filtered 30% of stuff out of the water, but ZeroWater filtered 100% of disolved particulates and nearly 100% of almost everything else out such as bad chemicals, etc. Yes ZeroWater filters are 3x the price of Brita, but they are worth alot more than that because of how pure they make the water. Brita and PUR filtered water literally tastes just after filtration, even running it through those twice doesn't make a difference. Only ZeroWater makes a big difference in the taste of the water so if you have really good tap water then any filter will taste pretty good, its only when your tap water tastes terrible or has lots of bad metals/chemicals in it that you can really tell a huge difference in the water's taste.

Update:I used this water as a replacement for distilled water, in order to add minerals to it for coffee brewing. It worked perfectly. The only true annoyance I have is the pitcher sucks for pouring into a container with a narrow opening, like a gallon jug, so I have to use a funnel.__________I had heard about this product for a long time but always thought the idea of filtering was unnecessary, so I never tried it. Then I moved somewhere that the water tasted worse, but was happy enough with an in-fridge or on-faucet water filter just for taste improvement. I purchased this product really for one thing: to get close-to-zero TDS water to use as a replacement for distilled/RO water so I can add minerals myself for optimized coffee brewing water (yes, it sounds ridiculous, but can make a world of difference). If you want to try this yourself, you can purchase and add one packet to one gallon of distilled, RO, or water from your Zero Water filter pitcher (if you get this 7-cup size, you will have to fill the pitcher several times and add it to a gallon size container).I expected it to take a long time to filter, considering the extra stages it has to pass through compared to a standard filter. However, I was surprised to see water filling the pitcher within seconds of adding it to the top reservoir. It took two fills of the top reservoir to fill this 7-cup pitcher, with the filter still inserted. This is an estimated 56 fl.oz. (7 cups x 8 fl.oz.). This means I'll have to fill it ~2.25 times to make my full gallon, and considering how quickly it filters this can be done in minutes - quicker than the time it would take me to go to the store and buy a gallon of distilled. On top of that, the filter SHOULD last long enough that it will be cheaper and less wasteful, in the long run. Not bad!I tested my unfiltered tap water and it read 110 TDS after allowing the meter to sit for a few seconds in contact with the water. I have an in-fridge water dispenser that provides filtered water, and it read 80 TDS, but the filter is also past the time it should be replaced so I'll test it when I put a fresh filter in. I filled up the reservoir of the Zero Water pitcher once, tested it and received a 002 reading, which isn't bad but was partially disappointing. I then filled the reservoir a second time and it read 000, so it appears it was just the first run-through that may have been slightly higher TDS, yet not much since it is now reading 000.With my other water filters, I've had to "prime" the filter by running a certain amount of water through it first. I like that this is not the case with ZWF, as they do this for you before they ship it. I didn't know this when I purchased it, so when it arrived and was wet inside the blue cap, I was taken aback that it may have been a used and returned product, however now that I know they prime it for you I understand why it was wet inside. The plastic wrapper my filter was housed inside was ripped in two places, which is why I thought it was returned used, but now I expect it was just torn from being stored upside down for too long, perhaps during shipping.I tasted this water, just to leave a rating for the flavor category here on Amazon. It was a bit metallic and slightly odd, possibly "fishy". Since my water reads 000 and not 006, I know it isn't the filter being bad, and it could just be the first run-through not being as pure. I also ran warm water through the filter and didn't refrigerate it before tasting, so that might be effecting the taste. I didn't really buy this for the taste of the water, rather I purchased it because I will be adding minerals back in and using it for coffee brewing, so I will have to see if the taste affects that at all.In summary, this water filter works "better" (if the goal is getting 0 TDS) than other water filters, it also is more convenient due to not having to prime it, and it provides ready-to-use water in seconds/minutes. So it works, it is quick, and it is simple and easy to use.I will be testing this for my coffee brewing purposes and will update when I've done so.
