Now I know it's sacrilegious to order car parts from Amazon, this however worked for me especially for an older model vehicle. Fits in place and works but definitely needs a cover for the wires if you have the old one keep it. Starts immediately Great quality out of box and over time reliable starting from the starter motor. Price was more affordable here than in store online.

Starts right up and better than the original for 2011-2019 Ford explorer because the original has a nut that is too close to something and difficult to turn a socket or wrench. This one has a slightly different design that allows you to work a tool. So far it starts up faster than before.

Pros: The starter is extremely strong compared to the stock starter for a Ford Flex. Start our EcoBoost titanium Ford Flex much easier than the stock when it did. Of course this is also much less expensive than a stock motorcraft OEM part. Very easy to install for even a shade tree mechanic that normally does not perform this type of work. Two bolts three terminal connections after you remove the air intake line and a few other things and you're in business. Without saying of course disconnect your battery and let it discharge for a bare minimum of 15 minutes.Con: the threaded ends are not long enough for the stock plastic protective end cap to actually be placed over the terminal ends. Keep that in mind when buying but it does not come in contact with anything and will not so there's nothing to be concerned about.

I bought this starter and it arrived promptly March 6, 2020, and arranged to have installed at a service center down the road. They were finished within an hour, to my suprise. The starter worked like a champ......FOR 26 DAYS and failed. After calling for technical help, being on hold for 15 minutes, the message said " there is nobody here to take your call. Disappointed.Next was to get a replacement for the failed one, I'd put it in myself and save some money. The scheduled replacement delivery date was April 26 2020. This car is used EVERY DAY. was I going to get a free loaner car until the replacement part arrived? No.The choice left was to order another, one is left in stock, and return the failed one.The newly ordered one would arrive on 4/6/2020, still not good. Car is used every day.After removing the failed starter an examination was completed on the failed starter to find the bushing / bearings holding the starter gear in place totally failed and left far too much play in the gear to engage the flywheel.I would never recomend this product to anyon
