When I ordered this pill dispensing system I was kind of excited to use it for my elderly father, who just turned 90 and needs some reminding to take his medications in the morning, noon, and evening. I initially liked the fact that the top opens up so that you could load the pills in easily. He takes about a dozen pills and with regular pill boxes it's a lot of clicking plastic lids open and closed. The problem I ran into is that even though there are special rings to account for 3 pill periods per day, I didn't realize that loading the pills would mean a lot of skipping compartments in order to fit into the 3 slots = one day scenario. Once we got past that, the next hurdle was to teach him how to use the device once the alarms were going off. I should also mention that he's totally deaf in one ear and mostly deaf in the other, and is a technology hater. Unfortunately this device did not work out for him. However, I think if you're a person that takes one group of pills a day and aren't afraid to read and learn how to operate something like this, it will be a great find for you. It just wasn't what my dad was comfortable using.

This is a great pill organizer. It’s more substantial than I thought it would be. That said, it might be a little difficult for someone that is feeble to use. I mean, it isn’t super heavy, but my 95-year-old mother in law would have difficulty with it because of the weight and her lack of dexterity. I think she may also find it very difficult to impossible to program. That said, I have no trouble at all with it. As far as programing, it isn’t exactly difficult, but it definitely isn’t self-explanatory. Without the instructions it’s a lost cause, at least for me it is. I plan to scan and save the directions as well as file the hard copy because without them this organizer isn’t very useful. As for the organization of it, it’s fantastic. There are 28 different compartments to store pills, and it includes different dial disks so that it can be used as a one a day for 28 days, 2 a day for 14 days, 3 a day for 8 days, and 6 a day for 4 days. The compartments are spacious so larger size pills shouldn’t be an issue. That’s a problem I’ve had with other organizers. I know that adds to the size of this dispenser and others have complained about the size, but that’s actually what I like about it. If the compartments are too small for the pills/vitamins then it’s useless. The top cover does have a latch to hold it closed. If you are looking for something that locks, this isn’t it. When latched it won’t come open, but it won’t ensure that no one gets into it. It uses 4 AA batteries that are included. I don’t know yet how long they will last but I’m hoping quite a while. The battery compartment locks into place using a tool that clips onto the underside of the unit. I can’t say that I like that since losing the key will make it very difficult to change the batteries. It does seem to be securely fit but I’m still a bit leery of having a specialty key that could possibly be easily lost with no way to replace it. All in all, I’m impressed with this dispenser. It’s spacious, has nice options and I love the alarm that helps keep me on schedule even when I’m not paying attention. Sure, I can set an alarm on my phone but that won’t help me keep track of whether I’ve taken all of my doses. With this, I can visually tell if the compartment is empty, I took it, and vise versa. It also seems to be helpful for me to have it all contained and reminders all in one place. For me I love it, so I rated it a 5, but I don’t think it’s for everyone. If the user is feeble or lacks dexterity, isn’t savvy enough or figure out the programming, doesn’t want the job of filling and refilling the dispenser, or just doesn’t have the room for it, it’s probably a pass.

At first, even been a tech person that takes a LOT of pills (legal ones), this looked confusing on what exactly I was supposed to be doing with it. For one, it doesn't hold NEAR the amount of pills that most old people (that includes me) take on average. Also not much on 2-3 times of a day of pill dosing that is needed in many cases such as diabetes or high blood pressure.I tried to work with the darn thing and it's very large to hold VERY little, and the alarm setup is not intuitive. After a few hours with it and testing it for about a week, I gave up on it. I would be better off with just a weekly pill box holder with 2 slots for double dosing per day. This is basically an overly complicated pill dispenser that doesn't do the job very well at all.

This Daviky automatic pill dispenser for elderly with alarm, 28 day, electronic, locked pillbox, sound, and light reminders for medication, vitamins, and supplements (Blue) sold by:"HOTZI" a seller that is located in: "CHINA"The product is made in: "CHINA"This pill dispenser is very different and unique from all other pill dispensers I have ever seen in my life in a good way!It is huge, measuring about 9 1/2 inches across. I love the 6 different rings that you can you can use to customize your particular needs whether you want to take your pills once a day or up to six times a day. You can use the different rings to customize your particular needs whether you take your pills once a day or up to six times a day! If you only take your pills once a day, you would be able to load 28 days worth of pills into the dispenser!.The dispensers lid actually locks which add an extra layer of safety, which is great if you have children or if you wanna keep an elderly parent out of the pills!I wish that there was a way to actually mount it on the wall.I feel like the instructions to set up the alarm could be better as it is a little complicated...
