Solid feeling caliper. Accuracy is very good I would even say these compare to the much higher priced brands but at a fraction of the cost. I own several measuring tools from Dasqua and with each purchase I am more impressed with this company.

The strong, well marked storage case holds the caliper securely between upper and lower foam pads preventing rattle on shaking, and it has cutouts in the foam allowing you to easily remove the caliper. Some competitor's devices are hard to removed from their storage boxes. The Instruction Manual for this digital caliper does not seem to be synchronized with this newest digital caliper: it discusses how to use a protective sleeve to protect the user from the sharp edges of the inside and outside jaws of the measuring head. But there is no protective sleeve provided. The battery used, 1X CR 2032 has rather higher capacity (240 mAh) compared to the usual LR 44 (115 mAh) but the instruction manual does not tell how to install the battery, of which two are provided, neither installed. They provide a small blue plastic piece looking something like a guitar pick but which is designed to help pull out the battery tray from the top of the measuring head. But you can use your fingernail without a problem. The instruction manual shows the location, that is on the top, but does not tell how to pull out the tray or put the battery in the tray: pull the tray straight out with the provided plastic piece or your fingernail, slide the battery in from the front with the large side, that is positive +, up. Once the battery is in the tray then you carefully slide the tray horizontally into the top of the device being sure to keep the tray straight as it goes in.The manual identifies the red on-off button to the left as "switch key: switch caliper" although it is marked with the usual on-off symbol. The device possesses a data interface on the top side of the measurement head to transmit data but the instruction manual does not tell how to get the appropriate connector (which is not a micro USB type) or how to use it to record your readings to an external computer device. While it is slightly heavier (175 g) than a competitor, also with a CR 2032 battery, weighing 172 g, it is definitely heavier than a competitor using the usual smaller battery weighing 162 g. So the advantage of a larger battery (and battery compartment) has the slight disadvantage of making the whole thing heavier; not a big problem. The display digits are 11 mm high which is slightly taller than the usual 10 mm and they are thicker as well; except for the half height last digit which is either five or zero since this measures to the lowest.0005 inches. The longest it can measure is 6.107 inches which exceeds its six-inch claimed capacity. It claims a five-minute automatic turnoff if unused time; I timed it at five minutes 40 seconds, better than the over 10 minutes automatic turnoff of several competitor's vernier calipers I own. Some people like to be able to measure in inches and fractions such as 3 11/64 inches, which several competitor devices can easily do. This device can only measure in decimal inches and decimal millimeters. If you do not need that capacity, not a problem.I took off one star because of the lack of information in the instruction manual about how to put the battery in and about the digital output port.In conclusion: recommend

I realize that a digital caliper is mainly purchased and used with the digital readout but this equipment is the first I've seen with absolutely no usable manual reading.

I just received these calipers and am very impressed for the price point. I paid $28 w/ 30% off offer and am very impressed with not only the calipers but the decent quality case and documentation as well. Also comes with (2) lithium CR2032 batteries (had Amazon delivery because USPS doesn't like to ship lithium batteries). The calipers are slightly 'stiff' as new calipers can be but loosened up a bit with use and are smooth. Also are spotless with no machining grit like cheaper one's and the jaws in perfect alignment. Accuracy spot on. Readings of 1.000", 2.000" and 3.000" when measuring 123 blocks with a tolerance of 0.0002".I used Mitutoyo digital calipers daily in a Q.C. inspection job for several years and outside of their "origin" feature , see no benefit of them (at their considerably higher price) compared to these. Mitutoyo is known for excellent battery life (LR44 size button cells) but these DASQUA # 2000-2005 with a larger CR2032 lithium cell should provide satisfactory battery life. I already own a pair of cheap digital calipers that eats LR44 batteries like most cheap calipers do so I know what that's like and it's one reason I purchased these. In summary, a set of calipers that's of good quality and nice to use. At their normal price of $40 they are still worth it.*** I wrote this review to make others aware of these gems in a sea of "bargain" calipers of variable quality. I received no promotions or compensation from anyone. Am just that much impressed by what I received.

I use calipers every day. I own Mitutoyo, Tesa, and some cheapies. I use the cheapies for everyday tasks and the better ones only at the desk. These calipers are definitely not built like the cheapies, they are closer to the high end calipers that cost at least 3 times as much. I plan to use the Dasqua as my everyday calipers and see how they perform. I'm expecting them to do well and then I can upgrade all my everyday measuring tools to Dasqua.
