This sticks on the inner front portion of the boot you get after a foot operation. It's designed to protect vulnerable toes. It works quite well. My doctor recommended it and it does a good job

When I first installed it in my post-op shoe it was too cumbersome. I was bumping it into everything. Rather than returning the toe protector I decided to try to reshape it. I used a heat gun on low heat and gently softened the 'toe box' until it was pliable. I used oven gloves to mold it into a more compact shape and put it in the freezer for about a minute. When I put it back into the post-op shoe, it was much more compact and comfortable. It reduced the frequency of bumps by about 75%. Sweet success!

I work in healthcare and had a serious laceration on my toe that required I wear a boot for offloading. This guard protected me from kicking bed frames, wheelchairs, and table legs. All the physical therapists at work were surprised they had never seen this before. It worked great and is underrated!

After hammer toe surgery on both feet, having these protectors inserted in the open-toe, surgery-recovery shoes saved me from stubbing or bumping my repaired toes which had pins sticking out beyond the end of the toes. These toe guards kept blankets away, prevented bumps and provided peace of mind during recovery knowing my vulnerable toes would be protected from any accidental contact.I was very thankful to have these.

Purchased this for my husband's boot (broken foot). His boot is open toe but work demands closed toe and this was the best/cheapest optionI could find. The idea itself is ingenious, but the thought put into creating it is a bit lax.The plastic is not at all bendable, my husband put it over an open stove to heat it up and bend it so it's not so large. The openings on the side are just that, large openings; your foot is not really protected from any elements, just possibly other people's sneakers, table legs, etc.The picture shows a full length white got length paper behind it, and the description sneakily portrays that it sticks to the bottom of the boot (underneath the soft part). That is not the case, the toe guard does not have that white part to stick it in the entire length of the boot (which would have made more sense, honestly) it comes with just the toe guard attached to a short piece of plastic about the length of the toe guard itself. It does have the sticky part on it, but i have no clue wether its sticky enough or not (easily fixed with Velcro tape if its not sticky enough, i would assume) although I was a bit bummed about that, hubby said its fine.To anyone needing a closed toe boot, i searched. I did not find any other product that I deemed comparable. This is what we did to make sure the boot was okayed by work:A) put it under a hot stove/torch it to fit more flush with your boot. We did this on all 3 sides (2 sides and top)B) either ghetto rig it like us, or come up with a fancier version; we simply pulled a black sock over the whole thing once it sat flush with the boot, slit an opening where the toes are supposed to sit, and slid the whole shebang under the soft part of the boot, tucking the rest of the sock all the way to the back of the boot. Unless someone is really REALLY concentrating on the boot, no one will notice. It won't hide your foot from the elements, but it being summer right now, that wasn't our main issue, so weather/ rain proofing wasn't a necessity. (Beeswax rubbed onto whatever fabric you use then melted on with a hair dryer might do the trick)In conclusion...Pros:Great ideaDoes guard your toes a bitSturdy plastic materialCons:Large (husband wears 12.5 and this thing before molded resembled a clown shoe on him)Falsely advertisedCumbersomeDoes not protect your feet from much other than other peoples feet/toe stubbing; beware of clumsy chicks in high heels. Is this the best product out there? Unfortunately, yes. Will it get the job done? Kinda.Although it's a bit cumbersome, it really is a great idea and after tinkering around with it a bit, will get the job done. It's a good base to start at, but you will likely have to put a little elbow grease into customizing it to your specs.Hope that helps!
