Danco changed this product but this listing is out of date. There is only 1 adapter included. The adapter is not made of metal, it is made of plastic. I already had the plastic adapter installed for 1 year before it needed to be replaced due to not having a secure enough grip on the metal rod of the valve.The plastic adapter is a waste of money, don't buy this.I found someone selling this same model but with the metal adapter on Ebay. There is also a universal handle sold at Home Depot (although I did have to cut the metal sleeve that goes around the valve and extends from the wall toward the handle a little).

Better than the junk plastic handles but it's very loose and rattles around on the adapter. Everything is tightened down properly but there's too much room in the handle for the adapter so it wiggles around. Also the adapters aren't metal like in the pictures. They're plastic but they appear to be a better quality plastic then the terrible crystal knows so hopefully it lasts.

Others have verified its sturdiness. A tip when installing: the handle will not jiggle if you place the spare washer the set comes with (assuming you left the old one on the valve stem), right where the fasting hex screw goes thru on the inside of the handle. Slip it carefully onto the metal adaptor you attached to the valve stem and make sure the hex screw slips thru the center of the washer before tightening. This will make the handle feel rock solid.

I have two issues with this handle but they are not deal breaking. Replacing boring standard Moen handle with something more eye pleasing was the goal and that works well. What I would like in this handle would be that pulling out would be done by half-circular motion instead of straight out (would require different adapter). The other issue is that set-screw got loose just after few days of use indicating that this might become regular maintenance task – included key is just tad too short for intuitive work / Philips head may be better choice? All in all, nice and affordable handle for Moen cartridges but not quite perfect.

For those of you like me that have a harder turning Moen tub faucet that eventually develops a "sloppy handle" until it breaks altogether, this is the godsend I was hoping would pop up some day! The original Moen piece that actually has to turn the valve stem is a hard nylon-like plastic, doing the hard part, while the handle piece for instance is metal and won't ever break?! So this kit really does not need a new handle. Decide for yourself if you like the it's style better or not. However, replacing the plastic part with this metal one ensures that it will not deform and get loose over time, or break altogether. My suggestion though is to screw it onto the valve stem with a couple of lock washers (not included) because the screw by itself will work itself loose quickly and you'll have to take the handle off again to re-tighten.

Installed as directed by the instructions on the package. The handle turned correctly (pitch) but there was way too much residual play (yaw) no matter how tightly the hex screw was turned. The washer in the package also did not fit the B1222.

The original plastic Moen knob broke after thousands of uses. And so I scoured the known universe to find a replacement. Unfortunately as far as I know, Moen no longer make this product and parts, and I cannot travel back in time. Several sleepless night later, I found the courage to search for a third party replacement and it brought me here.There was a plastic knob made for Moen which looks like the original but with many complaints that it broke off after many uses. Thankfully a fellow reviewer point to this product as a better alternative.The product was shipped fast and delivered to my door. Sadly I was unable to catch the delivery man or woman to personally thank him or her. Maybe Amazon used a teleportation device.Anyway, the installation was very easy. I highly recommend not to hire professionals to install this knob as they will do it with their eyes close and hands tied behind their back. Yes! It's that easy. The shower is back on business and I no longer have to knock on my neighbor and ask to use their shower and wifi.

Best hardware change of my life! Before purchasing this item I had a plastic knob on the shower that I had to replace every year or so. This last time I never changed it out once it broke and instead created some sort of strange "apply pressure and turn gently in the wrong direction" to turn on adjust he water temp. After not getting the hot water to actually come on for about a week (I took over another bathroom in the house) I came on to Amazon to find a replacement and was guided through other customer reviews to this product. I am so grateful. Making the change literally took minutes. No special tools were needed. It came with all of the parts clearly labeled, and a lovely diagram to know how it all fit together. My husband was shocked when he got it and simply turned the knob- with water of a pleasant temperature flowing out of the shower head. He commented "it's never been so easy!" And I completely agree.

Bought two of these to replace the the Moen 96997 stamped shower knob. One of them fitted very well -- tight and "wobble-free" The other fitted reasonably well but after two tries I still couldn't get the new Danco to fit as well as the first -- there is some residual play, which is a lttle disappointing.The installation instructions are very straightforward and easy to follow.I had no problem with the size of the Allen key provided (that some other reviewers have mentioned).

After replacing the plastic handle on the Moen fixtures at my house at least 4 or 5 times I decided, okay enough! The stock handles are plastic as you no doubt know if you are looking at this Danco product. And the plastic sleeve of the standard plastic handle is so poorly designed and of such poor quality, there is no way it's not going to break in short order. Not this Danco product; there is no plastic; actually the blister pack it comes in is plastic but that's all.All the components are metal. The handle will fit 2 types of Moen fixture, the kind you pull and turn or the kind you turn counterclockwise. There are 2 adapters and you choose the right one. Directions are straightforward and easy to understand. One item though, you should put something over drain hole before replacing. That way neither of the 2 little screws you use are gonna slip down the ol' drain. Total install took about 5 minutes and very easy. Now, I wont, and I hope you won't, continue spending money on poorly designed plastic products from Moen that break every few months. Trust me, you're going to be so happy. Check out the photos I posted. They give a good idea of what the product is all about.JRA
