While these handles were really retro cute, in the end, I had to spend more money to get them replaced because one tap kept stripping and never tighten enough to not cause leaking. They have this weird little mechanism that you have to tighten with a tiny allen key that you always have to keep handy. Also not really a universal fit for an older faucet.

I have arthritis and I replaced my original taps years ago with a low quality handle tap that I could grab more easily. One broke almost immediately and the other broke more recently. So I decided to replace them with something better. I live in a trailer so no normal home replacement parts work. I saw these had multiple sizes and options to chose from, figured I would give them a try. It took a little while to figure it out, but they assembled very easily and the metal outside is solid and feels very secure. The insides are plastic (except the screws) but the metal parts seems to take most of the tork when turning them off and on. Honestly, they and the shower head I also replaced are probably the best parts of my bathroom. I have been struggling for years to find something that would work with the parts of my 20+ year old trailer, they don't exactly stock that stuff at Ace or Home Depot. So glad I found these. They're perfect and work so much better for me on days when my hands are really weak or painful. Plus, they're just really attractive and so easy to install.

I love and hate these handles - here is my take. The handles have some heft to them, and they are beautiful - they were exactly what I was looking for in terms of looks and feel. The installation and parts were a nightmare, but I hope to help anyone who runs into the same issues I did in getting them installed, as I could t find any suitable alternatives anywhere else.Starting with the hardware -The handles come with three screw covers. One for cold, hot, and flow direction (faucet vs shower) if you’re using it for a three handle bath faucet. The covers are high quality and look great. They have o-rings that seat firmly and fit well. You also get screws with the handle - these are very long, and you will almost always need to cut them down to make them fit. More on that later..You get a set of plastic adapters that are meant to attach to the valve head to allow for the handle to engage with it when turning the handle. In my experience, the valve head was far too small (see picture) so they were worthless to me.The valve cover (silver tube thing) looks well made and fits the handle well.Installation -This part was a challenge to say the least. Because I could not find any other product that would work, or a conversion kit to fit the smaller valve head, I had to get very creative.First problem - silver tube thing was way to short to cover the valve assembly. My solution was to cut off the knob end of the silver tube - the one that engages with the handle - and drill a hole in its place to allow for the valve head to protrude instead so it will seat well with the existing metal tube sleeve thing.Second problem - how to get the handle to fit on the valve head without slipping off and/or being off center. I could have used some epoxy paste to glue the handles right onto the valve head, but that would have been disastrous if I ever needed to take them off again, obviously. I solved this by 1) I covered the valve head in plastic wrap 2) put epoxy putty inside of the hole in handle and onto the plastic wrapped valve head 3) pressed valve head and handle together, waited for it to dry, and then removed. This created a smaller, tight fitting hole in the handle that would be a snug fit onto the valve head. The second task was how to secure the handle onto the valve head. I went to my local hardware store and purchased some set-screws. I then drilled holes in the sides of each handle, on the half that the valve head fitted into (try to center it). I then slowly worked the set screw back and forth until the hole was threaded, and the screw could be tightened without too much resistance. This allowed me to “lock” the handle onto the valve head securely (the epoxy will not be strong enough to do this alone). I positioned the set-screw so that when you turn the handle, you can’t see it - and voila - I got the handles fitting well and secured.Third problem - one of the included screws matched the threading on the valve head, but was far too long. I got around this by taking my trusty wire snips (it’s not easy, so use large heavy duty ones) to cut them to length, then used a file to taper the end so it didn’t mangle the threads in the valve head.Wow - that was A LOT of work, but the finished product looks so good, I’m not even mad. I will say that this was not a trivial task, so proceed at your own risk.

It takes a bit Of time to find the right square and then affix it by tapping into place, and correct size screw, but it was worth it. The end result is miles better than what I had previously. I have just ordered another for the cold water. I had gone to a hardware store and was told by two sales clerks that my faucet would be loose and hard to turn off and nothing I could do but replace the whole unit. So glad these faucet handles exist - far less costly and so attractive.

I really wanted to like this product. It looks, and certainly appears to be, a good quality faucet handle. The problem is it claims to be a universal fit and is not. The stem I need to mount this on isn't a star-pattern (the only type of adapter included), it has a D-shaped end, and this slipped when turning. On top of that, the sizing template (plastic strip with holes) is basically impossible to read (there is more than one number next to each hole, and nothing matches the mounting pieces) and the mounting pieces themselves, even with the same marking (I, II, III, unlike the template strip these are marked with roman numerals) don't fit as expected (one of the II's was much wider than the other).I've installed replacement knobs, doorknobs, light switches, etc, every step of the way checking the directions on the little foldout that comes in the package to make sure I'm not going to mess something up. I did that here too, and I've never been more disappointed in the result. As far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with the build quality of the product. It looks and feels great. But Danco needs to get their act together on the adapters. It's frustrating and unacceptable.

I wanted to love these knobs, I really did! When they arrived and I opened one of the packages I was very excited because of the heavy duty quality of the knobs and the retro chic look! I bought them to replace some old clear plastic knobs. The "hot" and "cold" plastic pieces had degraded and fallen off/broken and I figured it was time for an upgrade. I was also impressed with all the different parts and pieces included to make sure it fit any type/shape of stem. Indeed, I was able to use the universal metal square piece to fit my stem, but that's where the good news stopped. As you can see from my pictures, even though the knob was able to be secured tightly to my stem, the decorative metal part that is supposed to cover the stem was too short to cover it all the way and sit flush with the escutcheons (the square metal piece that is flush with the tile - yes I had to look that up, I'm a scientist not a plumber). I tried to make it work but in the end it just looked tacky, so I took it off and sadly sent them back.My advice is to look carefully at your setup and measure to be sure this will cover the length of your stem/pipe. I'll bet these would've worked nicely for a sink, but for my tub they were a fail, which is a bummer because they looked great! I hope this has helped someone else!I did NOT receive this item free or at a discount
