These caps are usually lost or broken over time,so to keep a faucet handle looking neat it's an inexpensive item.

The splines we're a little narrow for my application, but I was able to bend them out to fit them. Looks like a perfect fit.

I'll echo previous poster that it fit my American Standard bathtub faucet. My 3 handles hot/cold/shower diverter had 9 points. Others I saw online had less i.e. 7 or 5 etc., so I was concerned it might not fit, but it did. The original hot tab just fell off and went down the drain. These are chrome not plastic. I received 5 in my pack.
