Fits, works, heavy! This is really heavy. That adds to the work I have to do riding, so I'm taking off a star for that.It works, and is good for what it is. I'm not sure if I'll keep it or toss it in the end, as heavy as it is. But, for now, I'll see how it goes on actual rides to the store and back.

The build quality and finish are there. No rough spots that I noticed, plus each major piece is packed in its own separate back to prevent scratching up while it's on its way to you. The mounting hardware all connected and fit properly, though it did take me a few minutes to get oriented as to what was what. They include all of the hardware you need, including tools, plus one adapter for bikes that have only one mounting hole for the front support arms. Not intended for mounting to a post, though you could maybe pick up an adapter to make that work. There's plenty of adaptability for this to fit bikes of different shapes and sizes.When I was first unpacking it I was concerned by how heavy everything felt. As other reviewers have said, the basket is quite large, and the basket and support brackets contribute much of the weight. Of course, that new-in-box weight included tools, extra hardware, and packaging, giving an initial impression that it's heavier than it is. The basket and brackets which support it are optional, and don't have to be attached for the rack to work or support other pannier bags.

This is a great rear bike rack. I would give it 5 stars, but the directions are limited and it was missing 1 washer (not needed for my setup). Very compatible with many bikes (with extra brackets to make it work). Very happy so fat.

I have been riding my bikes more, especially for errands when it is appropriate and sometimes I need to carry things. It's not always easy without a rear cargo rack and basket so I have been looking for one for one of my bike.I came across this CXWXC rear bike rack that included a basket so I ordered it.When it arrived I opened the package and saw the basket, frame and rack and thought I might have made a mistake and that it would be too heavy. It turns out that it was not, it just looks like it would be because of the thickness of the tubing it is made from.After taking it out I realized that it was perfect for my needs and was not too heavy but is very, very sturdy and that is a plus for anything bike related.The package really has everything that you need to carry things on your bike. It has a nice size basket, which you can remove and just use the flat rear rack part if you don't need the basket.The side frame parts are designed so that you can add panniers (side bike bags) if you want and they won't rub on the tires/wheels. It also has a nice quality cargo net to keep everything secure.The kit comes with everything you need to install the rack and basket, including the needed hardware and all needed tools are also supplied. You don't need anything else to install everything as it's all provided for you.Installation took me about 30 minutes, partly because I had to clean out the threads on my bike where the rack screws to. Other than that it was a pretty easy install.After installation I loaded up some odds and ends into the basket and took it for a test ride around the neighborhood. Because the weight of the items you carry in it is transferred to both the rear axle area of the bike and the seat post area there was no ill effects on how the bike handled.I am very please with the quality of this rear cargo rack and basket combo and feel like it will last the life of the bike and even on with another bike in the future.If you are looking for a rear cargo rack and basket for your own bike then this complete kit is one to think about. Just keep in mind that these types of racks are made for hardtail bikes (bikes without rear suspension) mainly.

There is something odd about the pictures that make the basket look smaller than it is. The correct dimensions are given, but somehow it still looks smaller than it actually is. I don't think it is deliberate trickery, just a tricky visual. Grab a tape measure and get a good feel for what a twelve inch wide basket would look like on your bike. It's a good basket, but you should be aware of its size.However, the kit is really well made and sturdy. Very much worth the money. Consider the included tools junk and use proper tools. Including them is a nice "gimme" by the seller, but why not include a decent Allen key? They add a negligible cost. But, they'll work if you're careful and have nothing else--if you're not careful, you're liable to strip the screw heads, and getting the screws nice and snug will be tough.The rack is easily adjustable as it is being installed on the bike to fit bikes within the size range given.But, if you're good with the basket and toss the tools, this is really a nice product!

If I had an electric bike this would be a great basket for carrying lots of stuff with me. It is made of thick metal and the entire thing with attachment parts and reflector weighs in at 5 pounds, 2 ounces. That is simply too much weight for me to add to my mountain bike. I’m going to use the rack part that attaches to the bike, and skip the basket. The rack part weighs exactly one pound, so the basket part would add another four pounds plus. That’s too much for me. Maybe if you’re looking for a good workout you can use the basket. I’m sure you could put at least 20 pounds of stuff in it, and there is a cargo net included to keep it in place. That would build up your leg muscles!
