Great for rehydrating and conditioning my cutting boards and keeping them from drying out and cracking.

It had been 6 months since I conditioned my butcher block! I tried this product and it conditions so well! My block looks great! The gel consistency is different than oil buy i love that it didn't run off the surface at all and absorbed into the wood very well! This gel has a nice clean smell. A little goes a long way too! I am really happy with this and will purchase it again!

I admittedly wasn't so sure about this product until I used it. Once I did, I was so happy that I'd chosen to get it. It worked like a dream on my charcuterie boards. They look extra nice now. Definitely try this stuff out!

I was expecting a chemical smell or no smell at all because of the looks, but it has a really nice lemony scent that is absolutely lovely. It spreads nicely and evenly when applied with bare, clean hands. It also didn't stain the countertop and washed off my hands easily. The application method is the same as oil - Wipe a large amount on the board, spread it evenly, and let stand as long as possible. (If you're doing both sides, try putting bottle caps in the four corners to keep it off the countertop as it soaks.)So far the results are the same as if I used oil, but I won't know how long it lasts compared to oil for a long time.

Is it better or worse if I tell you I rubbed this Rowdy Rooster all over a charcuterie board shaped like a tally-whacker and nuts?My 18" piece of wood needed a good oiling rubbed in by hand thoroughly, top & bottom, and of course not neglecting the sack.I'm making it sound naughty for laughs, but this is a very good oil to let soak into your wooden cutting boards or charcuterie prior to ever using them. I hadn't used mine, because it wasn't properly treated. Oil like this smooths and softens rough wood & makes it easier to handle, perfect for unstained/treated products that you want to leave natural in color. It's great to find a food-safe oil for this, so I can finally use it for dishing up wieners, nuts, various balls for snacking, and even some delicious tangy cream (for dipping). It doesn't irritate the skin, of course, and comes off the hands easily. There's nothing like Rowdy Rooster for when you're oiling up wood for snacking.

Never knew this was a thing to hydrate your boards. I ordered a jar and rubbed it into several of my cutting boards. Very easy to apply. Directions are very simple and easy to understand. All the oils in this cutting board gel are food grade safe. Provides a nice finish that lasts long plus adds a little wax. Product is made in the USA.

Based on the information provided on the gel and on the Rowdy Rooster Woodworks website I both like and question the gel! The website is straightforward and basic. The gel is made of domestic ingredients to protect your wood pieces from drying out and keeping them conditioned. The only downside is that neither the gel nor the website list the specific ingredients beyond beeswax. I would like to see what ingredients make up the gel.The gel works well, I tried it on a wooden spoon that was unfinished wood, it definitely left the spoon moisturized and looking in better condition.I copied this description from the website to share here:"Made in the USA: Crafted with pride to ensure top-tier quality and standards.Food-Safe Ingredients: Made with high-quality oils and natural beeswax for safe and effective protection.Made by people who use them. We are experienced woodworkers who have dealt with frustrating finishes or poorly made products. That is why we decided to launch our own line to make life a little easier on people like us"
