100% legit. The factory plug on my 2016 Silverado 3500HD was full of dirt and corrosion and would not work majority of the time. This new Curt unit is 100% plug and play and clips right in and works flawlessly.

Much better than the OEM quality nice springy keeps closed very good and well makes good connections. You put this on aftermarket bumper in to bend out the tabs.

It was a perfect OEM replacement for my 2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD. It takes less than 5 minutes to remove the old output and install the new one.

Curt website and Amazon both say it fits the 2012 GMC Sierra 1500. It does not work with the factory opening. The connector is compatible but the opening is not. If you relocate to a compatible mount it would work but not a direct replacement.
