  • EASY TO INSTALL — No cutting! No splicing! This trailer wiring harness kit plugs into existing factory wiring on your vehicle and equips it with a standard, rear 4-pin trailer wiring connector for plugging in and towing a trailer
  • STANDARD CONNECTOR — This plug-in 4-flat trailer wiring can be used to connect trailer tail lights, brake signal lights and turn signals. 4-way trailer light wiring is popular on a wide variety of trailers, adding versatile towing options for your vehicle
  • VEHICLE-SPECIFIC — This aftermarket, vehicle-trailer wiring harness is designed for select years of the Honda Element
  • RELIABLE POWER — This 4-way trailer wiring harness is built with surface mount technology. This type of circuitry generates less heat, optimal light intensity and durable performance
  • DUST COVER — To promote long-lasting use and weather resistance, this 4-pole trailer lighting wire harness comes with a rubber dust cover to easily fit onto the 4-way flat connector when not in use, protecting it against the outdoor elements

CURT custom wiring connectors are the easiest way to outfit your vehicle with a CURT trailer wiring connection. They are built with some of the most advanced technology in the industry, and each one is custom-fitted to work with a specific make and model. Some automotive manufacturers install a special socket on the vehicle to be used for vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Although this special socket is not equipped on every vehicle, a CURT custom wiring connector -- also called a T-connector -- utilizes the socket for simple, stress-free installation. Rather than requiring you to cut, splice and solder into your vehicle's wiring system, the custom wiring connector uses a single OEM-compatible plug and instantly provides a standard, universal vehicle-to-trailer wiring connection, typically in the form a 4-way flat. All CURT custom wiring connectors are made vehicle-specific for the easiest possible installation and the best fit. This particular plug-in connector provides a 4-way flat socket and is designed to be a custom wiring option for certain years of the Honda Element (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary hardware to establish a solid connection. It also comes with a dust cover to keep the connector socket clean when not in use. To ensure long-lasting reliability, all CURT custom wiring connectors are thoroughly tested for optimal functionality. Stress is the last thing you should feel when towing a trailer -- whether you're hauling your RV to that favorite camping destination, your ATVs up to the hunting grounds or your fishing boat to the new hidden hotspot. At CURT, we think your towing equipment should add to the enjoyment of your experience, not detract from it.

* does not fit 06 ex, what’s weird is the second attachment my car has that in the spare tire compartment - but the main connection at the fuse panel is that of the 03-04 model - so I bought both thinking I can change the wires and plugs but I was wrong - I’ll have to just order a 8-12ft 4Pin connector that will reach from the front of the car of the 04 plug - see picture

My Honda Element had a trailer light harness installed by a previous owner that mounted under the car and tapped into the exist taillights with wire connectors. Not only was the unit fried, but all the connections had gone bad. This control unit from Curt is installed by just plugging it into an existing Honda wiring harness under the dashboard. This is a much better location than under the car because it’s not exposed to the weather. Then a short harness from Curt is plugged into another existing connector in the trunk. You have to thread that wiring out the back gate of the Honda Element to reach the trailer. I think this part is a little cheesy, but I only tow once or twice a year so it’s no big deal to me.

I installed this in my Honda Element - no tools required. Process is straight forward and takes about 10 minutes. Supplied instructions are easy to follow. My only complaint about this product is the adhesive backing that is supposed to attach the converter box to the car chassis was effectively useless. The adhesive had rotted away and I needed to buy alternative command strips to attach it. I suspect the device was manufactured years ago judging by the state of the glue and finally found its home on my old car.

Very easy to install. Plug and play with no need to strip wires. The kit comes with splice connectors just in case though.I tucked the control box behind the kick plate attached to the vehicle body with the provided self stick pad. The self stick works well. Just make sure you clean the mating surfaces with alcohol first.I connected the ground wire ring to a bolt that was holding a bracket right above where the control box plugs in. Kit does come with a self tapping screw if for some reason you aren't able to find a bolt to hook it to.Very pleased with this product overall. It was the cheapest plug and play option I was able to find, but wish I could find it cheaper. It's worth the price though.

I’ve also wrenched a lot on cars, that said I’ve never done this task before and I’m also very good at screwing up simple stuff)That was easy.2007 Honda Element.Lots of extra parts in the box, appreciate that. For the 07 Element the whole install including reading the instructions and unloading the car took 15 minutes. The back part is as simple as pulling up a floor board, removing a dust cap, and installing the whip. The front was nearly as easy with the added bit of screwing down a ground, installing a fuse, and using the provided double sided tape to hide the box away.I’m SO GLAD I did this all my self because after seeing how easy it is I’d be furious if I paid a shop a couple hundred for the install.I’ve been up to my neck in frustrating and poorly designed machines lately so this little hitch project was such a rewarding joy to do. All the instructions were very clear, the fitment on everything was perfectl, and now I’m ready to rock.DoNotPaySomeoneToDoThisYou can do this thing. Promise.

The hardest part of the install is making sure you find a good place to ground it for the front harness install. I was able to run the trailer pigtail up behind the bumper & through the grommet into the spare wheel well for a "no see" install (took the pins out of the harness to pass the flat 4 wire cable up from the ground - super simple to do (just make sure you take a pic of the wire configuration to put them back in the harness correctly)). The back took about 5 minutes of work, maybe a little bit longer. The front part up under the steering wheel took me a little longer than 10 minutes, but most of that was just being in an awkward position. I did try to ground in one spot, and then changed my plan.

After some very detail-oriented searching, I discovered that this item was the exact (and correct) harness for my 2007 Honda Element EX. Purchased a U-Haul 2" Class III receiver hitch and the Curt 56029 wiring harness. I installed the entire thing myself in a little over an hour with basic hand tools, and the hitch harness was completely plug and play.Just locate the connector under the dash for the converter, plug it in. Then open the cover for the spare tire and locate the plug for the towing harness, and route the harness as you see fit. You can run it through existing holes, or just keep it in the spare tire well and route it out of the tailgate of the element as-needed (which is what I do, since I only tow about 10 times per year).***MAKE SURE TO VISIT THE CURT MFG. WEBSITE AND BE SURE YOU ARE PURCHASING THE CORRECT MODEL HARNESS FOR YOUR VEHICLE***I cannot stress the above enough. Older and newer elements have different wiring kits. So many people leave horrible reviews of products based upon their lack of research and absolute faith in seller listings. Be certain you purchased the right product and you'll be very happy with the results.
