This is one of those items that you get what you pay for. I knew it was plastic, but its only purpose is to cover the hitch hole.If you want to adjust how deep the cover slides in, the plastic is very easy to drill extra holes in. I posted some pics on how to mark your new holes.Sure it might break and scratch easy, but it wasn’t a lot of money and it works.

Hitch receiver cover Good plastic product for the price. Only thing better would be steel.When I dragged the hitch in the dirt it didn’t break or come out like the rubber slip ins.May not do as well on rock. ???

There are many options to cover trailer hitches/receivers,, but we liked the design of this one best. We wanted a cover that was plastic and would not promote rusting as well as one that covered as much of the hitch as possible and this product did the trick. We purchased a locking receiver pin that could be sized for a tight fit. The combination has met our expectations. The hitch cover provides terrific protection from debris getting in the hitch receiver and protects a large amount of the exterior of the receiver as well. We are very satisfied with this product.

Arrived cracked, I received a replacement but i decided to return it because it a thin cheap plastic it will eventually break again not work it. maybe if the plastic was a little bit thicker it will increase durability but as is its not worth it.
