We had a cusinart toaster for several years and it just kinda faded out and quit toasting. So we tried, and tried and tried (4 different toasters - red, green, big name & Amz ) all duds for one reason or another. So we got another Cusinart toaster - AHH perfection. It toasts taller bread, bagels, both sides evenly, whatever! Hubby noticed right away that it was great quality toaster back again. I don't have the smell of burning bread! He has homemade bread he hand makes, and mine is specialty bread that is not cheap., so when it burns it is very sad. We are now very happy.

Easy to use. I like a lite toast . I use 1-1/2 very golden.It will not burn your toast if you take the time toTest what works for you .It feels substantial. I chose the matte stainless & it is very subtle & easy to keep clean.It is very quick if you use the Setting I suggested

I have had MANY Cuisinart items in my home for years and have enjoyed the consistent quality of their product. This time, not so much.I wanted a simple 2-slot toaster that my teenagers could use before heading off to school in the morning. I purchased this unit because of the name, look, simple controls, and good price point for a name I knew.It lives up to everything except it's job. Even on the darkest settings and selecting bagel (a little under 8 minutes), barely toasted bread. I tried all the settings, different types of bread (English muffins in the pic), and even switched outlets to make sure it was not a power thing. Nothing worked. I believe the culprit is a half-working heating element. You can see the dark spots in the toaster in the pics.Unfortunately friends, this as tested toaster should not be one of your options for your kitchen. It will frustrate you as you wait, peering into the orange glow for an eternity while you hold your to-go cup of coffee, car keys, and phone, only to have two slices of bread appear almost as doughy as they were when you took them from the bag...just warmer.I'd love to get my money back, but the toaster already has those 'already been used' stains at the bottom. Just like new shoes worn outside, non-returnable.

Over the years I have purchases 3 of these toasters. 2 were 4 slice, of which one was a gift, one for myself. both of those were high quality. This one I purchase for myself and it is simply not the same quality. It is super, super light in weight, sort of flimsy. It does toast nicely, and I like the lift assistant. I was disappointed that the metal appears to be much thinner, and quality is noticeable not the same, high quality it once was. A less expensive toaster would have been just as nice as this because the low quality of the metal.

So far toaster does what it should. The bagel setting and cancel are handy to have. The lever to raise toast that is small only raises the toast a small amount, wish it could be higher.
