Sure beats ruining a vacuum cleaner filter from the ash residue. I tried the vacuum method a few times and it just ruins filters. This kit cleans out the ash without ruining expensive filters and is so quick and easy to use. I highly recommend not using a vacuum cleaner. Great price and quality.

I haven't tried the scraper yet, but the little broom and dust pan is just what I needed to get the ashes out of my grill. All three pieces come snapped together and are easy to put back that way. Then they have a strap so you can hang them in your garage or wherever you store your grilling supplies so they won't get lost or be in the way. Bonus I was not expecting.
