I bought this to help in the shock removal process on my 1989 Toyota 4Runner and it fits the original shock stud perfectly and it fits the replacement KYB shock stud as well. I was a little hesitant because the product says "GM" but it was worth trying it for the price. Not a "needed" tool to do the job but why not have this socket instead of using pliers.

This was not the right size for a 91 C2500. Good quality socket and shipping was prompt.

Some think they can accomplish the same thing with vise grips, but when you're trying to tighten the rear shocks on a GM product through the pitifully (and purposely) undersized access hole, you will swear this CTA tool is worth its weight in gold! This and a deep offset box wrench can easily fit in said tiny hole, and you are able to torque the top nut on the rear shock to 22 ft./lbs.in less than a minute!
