Impossible to get it to apply pressure either evenly or really at all to the cylinder. No matter what the tension adjustment was set at, the hone wouldn't open on it's own nor would it spring open against the cylinder as it should. The cylinder was WELL within the stated specifications, but that wouldn't really matter as it wouldn't function properly at any size. Also, the stones were not aligned; therefore, one could be against the cylinder surface and the other stone (only 2) was sideways with its mount against the cylinder. Never used it, immediately repack for return and reorder of a (hopefully) better version.

Pretty cheaply made. Tore stone off with first spin of drill on low speed and hardly any tenion. After I put new pads on it seemed to work ok.

The design is so bad the adjustment screw does nothing to change the tension on the arms but it doesn’t really matter because the metal the arms are made out of is just mild steel and not a spring steel so it just bends getting no tension on the abrasive. Truly a useless poorly designed piece of junk.

While I have read some negative reviews on this particular item I found it to be just the opposite. Product arrived well packaged and undamaged. Performance was as expected, it did a great job honing out the bushing on the kicker gear of my HD 4 speed transmission. Care and common sense need to be used (i.e. let the drill come to a complete stop prior to removing tool from item being honed). Worked so well I have purchased replacement stones for future uses.

Don't waste your money. I own an auto business and needed a small hone for clutch cylinders. This was crap right out of the box. Because there are only two stones, it twists sideways and does not support the stones to make contact with the inside of the bore. Further, the tensioning springs are made of ;plastic and have no strength; Total waste of time an money. Look eslewhere.

Broke on first use. Seemed to start out OK but when drawing the hone backward the two "arms" holding the abrasive material broke away from the main shaft. It seems they are held on by a thin piece of plastic just a bit more rugged than a drinking straw.Actually its construction makes no sense - the shaft end that fits into the drill is very heavy duty, as is the flexible spring and the adjustable compression spring on the main shaft. The "business" end however is just cheap crap. Don't waste your money unless you want to throw it away. Buy "Flex-Hones" instead.

I used this for a project that I'm sure the engineers didn't have in mind when they designed this tool. Bought this because I purchased a AR-15 rifle barrel milled to .750 at the gas port, and a low profile gas block that turned out to have an inside diameter of .749 due to parkerization. Needed to remove about .0015 from the inside of the gas block. Stone "wing arms" are adjustable, but seem to exert more pressure at their base then evenly along their length. Just make sure you work the hone fully along cylinder (from both ends if possible) to correct this problem. Also, don't know how long this tool will hold up to repeated use but it solved my problem. For the price, if this is a tool you need to fix a problem in a one time case it will meet your expectations at a low price. This is an added report 7 days later.Hone tool failed attempting to even out what I'd already done previously and the plastic inner rod broke and tool is useless.Again if your project is a small one this may work fine for a limited time, but it is not a tool to be hung up on your tool board that you can count on.
