I recommend this product for a Jeep TJ. Very easy to install. Perfect fit. Keep in mind that when you install these you have to let the door slowly "crush" it into place the 1st time you close the door. It will seem too long at first, but that's how they work.

I purchased this door switch to replace the factory door switch I accidentally broke in my 2006 Jeep TJ. The switch will work fine if you do NOT need to make adjustments to the mounting orifice tab. However, the switch is shipped in a position that would not actuate properly on my TJ and had to be adjusted. That's fine however because the switch is designed to be adjusted to achieve the proper actuation. Unfortunately when I adjusted the swtich (as it's designed to be), the switch broke and the actuator & spring shot out of it. I tried to repair as best I could, but I could never get the actuator to stay put in the switch. I was able to use the actuator & spring from the replacement switch to repair the OEM; so it was not a total loss. **Be aware that if you need to adjust the mounting orifice tab on the switch for proper actuation it may fail as mine did**

It was easy to install and worked one time with my finger, when I closed my door and then opened the door the plunger popped out and kept popping out. The spring loading was just too strong for the plastic housing to hold it in place. It could have been a fluke I'm not sure, but I replaced it with a weaker spring and it works fine now. If you don't want to return the item and you don't have access to a spring assortment then you can just make the spring a bit shorter with some wire cutters (small increments) at a time until it stays in the housing.

Installation was easy, and the switch worked well for three weeks. Then, opened the door and the switch pin popped out. Appears that the metal clips/contacts at the base of the switch are not strong enough to keep the pin in place when the spring decompresses.****Update****I've updated this review from 1 to 4 stars. Bought more of these from two sources (one MOPAR OEM) and had the same problem with the pins popping out. One switch arrived already in parts. All three door switches appear to be the same quality. Here's what I've learned.First, carefully push the switch in the hole with a deep socket. It can be difficult ... be patient. Do not hammer or bang on the switch because the metal clips/contacts will dislodge from the back of the switch and the pin will pop out.Next, connect the female plug from the wire harness FIRMLY into the switch. Make sure the plug is all the way into the switch assembly. From what I can see, the female plug keeps the metal clips/contacts in place, and these contacts hold the switch pin in the assembly.Now, very slowly close the door to adjust the switch.For that extra piece of mind, after the door is shut ... and before you re-open it ... recheck that the wire harness plug is still firmly set into the back side of the switch (again, the plug on the wire harness keep the metal clips/contacts that hold the pin in place). You'll have to access the switch from the other side of the vehicle, which can be awkward.By the way, if the metal contacts become dislodged and the pin pops out of the switch before the switch is installed, all can be easily re-installed.Hope this helps.
