The Squid™ is an everyday carry folding knife from designer Lucas Burnley of Bend, Oregon. Based on the concept of a compact pistol, it’s small in size and big on ability. Don’t let the 2.37” blade fool you; this is a full-on, tactically inspired knife that’s ready to take on your largest cutting challenges. By designing it in a drop-point style, Burnley was able to give the blade a good balance of tip strength and point geometry for utility tasks, packing all the functionality of a full-size tactical folder, into an easy to carry, compact design.
Just like any good gun, you want something that’ll keep you safe. That’s why the Squid™ is built with the Assisted Opening innovation. Nudge the blade open part way and Assisted Opening activates, snapping it open at super high speed. The IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system makes for a smooth rotation and a frame lock keeps it solidly in place.

How Assisted Opening Works
It's held securely closed in your pocket, but initiate the deployment, and part way through the rotation the blade wields open at impressive speed for simple, powerful, one-handed opening.

Very nice knife for every day carry. Good for not so deep pants pockets. Very well made blade. This is my third different knife from CRKT. One for my husband 3years ago and two for myself with different lengths now.Very sturdy blades, good sellers, weighty and feels good in the hand. Sharp! Good value for the money! Thanks

Crkt is a great product, the opening action on this knife is great the appearance is great and is very sharp out of the box. It has two opening options it has a flipper blade as well as thumb tabs and both work great. It is a little on the small side so if you have large hands I wouldn't recommend it. I have medium sized hands and it is perfect for me.

I was looking for a knife with a blade that was less than 2.5 inches, and this was the perfect fit! The knife came very sharp from the factory, and is very well built! The spring opening is fantastic for quick deployment, and the unlocking mechanism to fold the blade back is ideal. Even for someone with bigger hands like myself, it is a great sized knife with a small enough blade! Highly recommend!

I have very little hands and have trouble finding pocket knives that are comfy in my hand. Most ergonomic handles are shaped to larger hands and feel awkward in mine. This knife is perfect for me! The blade is very sturdy and the grip is comfy for a small hand. It does feel heavy for its size, but I like that. I also like the finish of it - very stylish. From urban EDC to foraging trips, this blade is proving very handy :)

This is a durable knife, sharp enough for anything I will do with it. It is small enough that I can carry it around in the small pocket of my jeans, although it's heavy. The weight is the price for all-metal construction, and makes me think the knife will last a lifetime. It doesn't seem like it will open or close when I don't want it to, but it's easy enough to do so one handed. The "assist" feature means that the knife opens with a switchblade-like snap almost instantly once the blade starts moving, which is kind of alarming at first but I'm already used to it. It's worth repeating though, it's not likely to open unintentionally.

Comes out of box very sharp. I like the shape of the blade and how quickly it opens.My only dislike is the pocket clip. At the bottom of the clip it sticks out a bit - you can see in the product photos. This gets caught on step ladders if you carry the ladder near whatever pocket your knife is in. Also seatbelts. Stepped out of my truck and the clip was attached to the seatbelt - which bent the clip so it was no longer useable. I was able to repair it by bending the clip with some pliers, but god damn what an inconvenience.
