Bought this attic fan to replace a three-year-old one that suffered premature motor failure. This new fan was effectively cost equivalent to the old one but is vastly better in design, materials and performance. The frame is very strong and made of nicely powder coated steel. The fan is a three-blade design and again fabricated from heavy gauge, powder coated steel. The motor is equipped with permanently lubricated bearings. This was particularly important to me as the failed one had bearings that required oiling which is not a big deal but becomes so when the unit is located in cramped, hot attic. This new unit also comes prewired with a 120v wall plug and a thermostat that includes an attached harness for ease of connection to the home power. Physical installation is straightforward with my only issue being poor framing in my attic (nothing square, plumb, or level). The unit is functioning perfectly in our near record temperatures, and operates very quietly. I am very happy with my purchase.

Works and Function as described. I did not use the thermostat that comes with it . I instead used a smart outlet. I have a standalone hygrometer to measure humidity and temp. Between the smart sensor and smart outlet, I turn on and off the in the attic.

I hired an electrician to do the wiring. We installed it together. It's not perfect. It is slightly offset from the rafter framing. I did not use the expansion anchors. They are basically useless. I used structural screws, with a washer. Also, there are small gaps, in the corners. where air blows back. Other than that, I've been very pleased with it.
