About this item

  • Speed Striker is 15x faster than standard spade bits
  • Contoured paddle design efficiently removes chips to prevent hole clogging
  • Heavy-duty use with optimized impact zone
  • Screw point allows users to go fast with control
  • 1/4" quick-release hex shank provides optimal performance in both impact drivers and drills

Crescent Screw Point Spade Bits provide one of the smoothest, self-feed, clean-cut drilling solutions. The ultimate performance tip design self-feeds for faster hole making when compared to traditional spade bits. The reinforced cutting edges (spurs) tear through nails along with the optimized curved paddle flute design, which increases efficiency in chip removal. The triple-sharpened high-speed steel improves the cut to be 15x faster than standard spade bits. The screw tip spade bit is impact rated including a torsion zone for increased shank stability and endurance in cordless and corded impact and drill drivers.

Really chews thru wood , and thin metals like gutter and trim coil. With the wood it cuts a slightly bigger hole ,so keep that in mind

I like bits with the center spike for precise placement, and really like these for digging in. They drilled through tough plastic planters like butter.

it’s good in the beginning but it gets dull quickly than other competitors. When I was using this, it was when we had a lot of drilling and maybe that’s the reason why it was deformed because of the temperature that the metal started to bend a bit

This tool is well built and engineered. I do like how the tool is well labelled and easily readable.

While the manufacturer advertises the benefits of this bit being that it can do the job faster, like when making holes in joists for running wires, speed is not my primary concern for all tasks.Another big benefit to this style of bit is the fact that the combination of the screw tip and the paddles make it a lot easier to keep the bit straight when drilling, without it wobbling around a lot. This is particularly important when making holes that you want looking tidy when finished, such as when drilling holes in countertops, or a desk. It's great for this purpose, and is my primary use case.

Unboxing: 5/5These drill bits arrive in a plastic and cardboard casing, the standard “off-the-shelf” packaging. It works well and keep the blades sharp during shipment.Looks: 5/5I love the bright red color of these, it went super well with my Milwaukee set. The numbers are large and easy to see, which makes them so easy to find in my tool bag.Quality / Durability: 4/5These won’t break on you, I put a lot of pressure on them and they help up fine. However, after one project, it did seem to have some trouble drilling into wood, compared to how it performed initially. The most important part with these tools is definitely the shaft or blades breaking off, because that’s the most dangerous part, which luckily didn’t happen. However, dullness means you have to either try to sharpen the tool or buy another, which is not intuitive in terms of time and pricing.Function: 5/5They work really well. Super clean holes, they drill quick, and can hold up to most drill speeds. They’re accurate too, I made sure to measure the holes after drilling, and they were near perfect. Definitely a quality tool.Value (for the listed price): 5/5Overall: 5/5
