Works exactly as described, no complaints

I like how brass doesn't corrode and seize up, but I'm annoyed with the edges chipping and causing leaks on my quick disconnect fittings. I figure these being nickel plated will help prevent corrosion, and maybe they'll last longer without leaking. So far they are working well on the few fittings I've replaced, and I have plenty of spares for later, so you can count me as a happy customer.

If you are hard on your air tools or frequently drop or drag your air hose on a concrete floor, carbon steel couplings and nipples are a must. I go through at least three brass couplings per every six months. Most of the damage is caused by dropping the air hose end on a concrete floor or someone carelessly driving over the hose fitting. Carbon steel is relatively indestructible, but it will eventually rust, and the inner seals will eventually dry rot. If you leave the hose sitting out in the hot sun, you will speed up the process of the rubber seals failing. One of the reviewers made a comment about this brand of coupling only using four ball bearing to lock onto the nipple. That comment is correct, the Cosmostar only uses four ball bearings where most industrial applications use six smaller ball bearings. It is true that four ball bearings have the potential to wear out faster under heavy use. However, I don't think ball bearing count leads to premature leaks. Leaks are all about the seals and the material they are made of. Rubber seals will fail from dry rot. Silicone seals will last longer in hot weather, but silicone is a fragile material prone to being cut by sharp edges. Unfortunately, Cosmostar doesn't stipulate what material their seals are made of. Of the six air tools that I installed Cosmostar nipples on and also used Cosmostar couplings there was indeed no air leaks. The only time that I got minor air leaks is when I used a Cosmostar coupling with a Harbor Freight aluminum nipple.

Replace leaking hose connectors with ones that don't hiss at ya. These connectors can be had for a nice price, and seem to function rather well. Overall build quality seems on par with many others out there. So no problem with giving these a 5 star rating.

These were really nice to install. They are sized right and have a very smooth feeling as they go in. I have had other connectors feel catchy or shaggy as they're screwed in. There was none of that with these. They were also able to get more threads engaged than the last batch I bought.Functionally, they work very well, as I alluded previously. They are nicely chromed for a clean, traditional look. Honestly, I really like the badging on there. I haven't noticed that much on many small items like this. To me, it indicates pride in workmanship. And now that I think about it... it just makes sense that I would have had the positive experiences I shared above. Pride in Workmanship.

I’ve been using this air hose fitting set in my workshop for a while now, and it’s been exactly what I needed to keep things running smoothly. The set comes with a good mix of 1/4" NPT quick-connect couplers and plugs, so I can easily set up my air tools with my compressor without needing extra adapters or hunting for specific pieces. Previously, I had to keep swapping the nipple between tools, which was a serious pain. Each fitting connects securely, and I’ve noticed there’s zero air leakage, which is a huge plus when you’re trying to maintain pressure. I can switch between my tools (like my impact wrench, nailers, and staplers) without struggling or needing extra tools to get things on and off.The durability of these fittings has also stood out. I’ve put them through a fair amount of use, and they still feel sturdy and lock in place tightly every time. I like that they don’t show any signs of wear despite heavy usage, which hasn’t always been the case with other sets I’ve tried.Having a set that covers all my connection needs means I don’t have to waste time searching for individual pieces or worry about compatibility issues with different tools. It’s made my workflow more efficient (albeit for a weekend warrior), and I really appreciate that it’s all in one kit. Worth the price, and 5 stars from me!

The rubber O-Rings in my old female side couplers were getting old and dried out (here in Phoenix heat and dryness) so I decided to try some new ones.Of the ones I tried, I like these best. The insertion of the tool side couplers was smooth and the collar on these females retracted easily to release the coupling. The one thing I found was the need to add wraps of Teflon tape with these versus other ones that sealed on their own. But that is one-and-done versus evaluating the couple / decouple. The leak-tight performance with these I/M style couplings is hit-and-miss at times when you have a mix of male and female parts from different makers and over time. The key factors are the condition of the end of the male coupler if it is smooth and uniform and not banged up. That needs to meet with the O-Ring in the female coupler and the quality of that O-Ring. The O-Ring can be replaced but it is sometimes difficult to separate and reassemble the pieces as well as finding the style of O-Rings for couplers.Another characteristic is the number of balls (ball bearings) in the female coupler. I find that the current ones more commonly have 4 balls, but I have an old coupler that had 3 and a mid-age one that has 6. See the pictures. All in all, these couplers perform well and I would recommend purchasing them.
