We installed this range hood vent in a rental property kitchen. It has a nice fan and the lights are very good. It looks easy to clean. It was delivered on time and in good condition.

I’m not happy. Not at all. This was a bad purchase. One installed and in use, we noticed the fan would vibrate violently when in use over a stove while cooking. It’s a plastic fan that has blades that warp when exposed to heat. Let that sink in: the hood makes a loud vibrating noise that shakes the actual cabinets on either side of the hood because the plastic motor becomes flexible due to the average heat from the stove. Isn’t this piece of junk made to handle heat, smoke and steam? Obviously not.I called their customer service and got through to no one. I emailed and got someone’s attention. I am now waiting for a replacement motor, but I’m skeptical. Oh, and guess who has to install the new motor? Yours truly. The worst part was the attitude of their customer service. They insinuate that you as the consumer are to blame. They told me my hood must be mounted too low. It isn’t. I mentioned my discovery that with the first cleaning (using the recommended cleaning products and methods) I saw the printed indicators for the control buttons were starting to rub off. This is all happening after just a few months. The person literally responded with “sorry your printed indicators are rubbing off because of grease. Make sure to take note of their functions so you can remember when they completely rub off.” Really. I’m so aggravated with this stupid thing - it can only run on low speed, otherwise the vibration makes it untenable. Like one of those old corvette kit cars that you put over a VW beetle chassis, this hood looks fantastic but it’s got a crappy, under powered, noisy motor. AVOID THIS PRODUCT.

We've had our range hood installed for about 2 weeks now and are very happy with it! It works much better than the old model it replaced (no idea on CFMs or age of that thing but it was time for a replacement, ha). This thing is also BEAUTIFUL which was a big selling point for me.I love that it has buttons only and no digital clock or touch pad... less potential for malfunctions down the road, plus I already have digital clocks on my microwave, coffee maker, and oven all within a foot of each other and this range hood... I can't tell you how glad I am not to have an extra clock to reset every time the power goes out lol. This is very quiet on the first setting, still relatively quiet on medium, and creates a decent bit of noise on the highest setting but you are moving a lot of air at that point so I think it's well in line with what I'd expect for the performance. Suction has been impressive to me on all settings, and we haven't had any issues with rattling. It isn't heavy as far as these things go, but it was still a bit of a beast to install as DIYers just because of the nature of the item and location you're putting it (my husband and I did this while I was 8 months pregnant so it's quite doable for the DIY crowd, just not EASY). Definitely recommend two people for install if you're not a pro, and using the box and styrofoam packaging to prop it up while you work helps a lot. Oh and as some others mentioned- yes, it was a pain to peel off the protective film but it was totally worth it to me to have a product that is in pristine shape and undamaged, I peeled while watching TV and it was fine.In the end I'm very happy with the item and would recommend!

I initially ordered the UMC30, which has an electronic control panel. The control panel was overly complicated to use, and it required 2 or 3 well-timed button presses to get the fan onto the Low setting. Then, when you shut it off, it counts down from 1 minute to shutdown. You have to hold the button to shut it off immediately. Also, the UMC30 buttons provide no tactile feedback, which makes them a bit more confusing to use. Some people might say "you need a PhD in engineering to use this." Yeah, well, I do in fact have a PhD in engineering, and I thought it was a nuisance to use.I sent back the UMC30 and ordered the Cosmo UC30 instead. The UC30 has analog controls that are very easy to use. We installed the UC30 in our kitchen. It looks good, it draws a lot of air, and on the Low and Medium settings it isn't too loud.I do have two gripes about the UC30:1. As with most range hoods, there are two flaps on the top that open when you turn it on. However, if you use the Cosmo-provided flexible duct, the flaps get caught on the duct and don't close properly when you turn off the fan. I ended up discarding the Cosmo duct and using some round ducting that I bought separately on Amazon.2. On the High fan speed the filters rattle quite loudly. I solved this by adding some adhesive-backed felt to hold the filters in place securely. All in all, I think the digital UMC30 is annoying to use, but the analog UC30 is quite nice.
