As many woodworkers know, clamps are an important tool in the shop and you can really never have too many. Corner clamps are one of the sub-specialty clamps and while you may not need to use them often, when you need them, nothing else will take their place. While I am only a hobby woodworker, one of the things I like to make are picture frames. They may seem to be simple, but making them and getting them to be straight can be a challenge. Having clamps such as these however knocks it down a few notches and can make mitering corners seem almost easy. This set of clamps is made from aluminum as are the feet and weight 176 grams. On the face, obverse and one outside edge of each clamp are rulers measured in either metric or imperial units. However I find the way they have set up the rulers to be confusing. One leg will have Imperial on the face while the outside edge and obverse will both be metric and the other leg will be reversed with the outside edge/obverse will be imperial and the face as metric. I find this could be quite confusing while working on a project. Perhaps a setup with the face/obverse as one unit and the outside edge being the other would be easier for users. The feet for the clamps come in at about 21 grams each and measure 1"x1.5" or 25mmx37mm. The knobs weigh in at about 7 grams each and are just about 1.125" or 28mm while the L bolts weight about 37 grams and measure 4.5" or 115mm long. The knobs have a 6 point configuration which works for helping tighten/loosen but they do have a smooth outer edge. Perhaps a textured face or knurling would be helpful in gripping them a bit better. While they do have the points, the knobs are a bit smaller and and anyone with larger hands may have difficulty in gripping them while turning. I know my hands slipped a few times. Each bracket checked out with the square I use for my projects which is more important to me than if they are dead on balls accurate(although they do seem to be in that general area). Once you have put a bracket together, it has about 3.5" and just a bit over that to work with, meaning you could make a frame from 2x4's and be ok, though I doubt many wood workers are doing so. The clamps are perfect for the run of the mill tasks most of us will face in our shops and will function from making picture frames, ensuring a 90 degree corner is true before setting your screws and quite a few other things. Without clamps such as these many tasks would be difficult even with a 3rd arm and before these arrived I spent many frustrated hours trying to do those things and generally failing. Being the only one in my shop, I don't have anyone else that can generally hold things for me while I drive a screw, glue up etc... so a set of clamps like these help me do quite a few tasks.Something I especially like with this set is they come neat and tidy in a hard plastic "briefcase" style container and held in place inside with a rigid foam. It helps keep your work area neat/tidy and prevents parts from walking away. Once you are done, the clamps can be broken down in to their component parts and stored neatly in the case until needed again. The case snaps open easily and snap tightly closed, so not worrying about pulling this off the shelf and having the top tumble open, spilling half the parts. The price on these is right in line with some of the other products I have seen out there and a bit less expensive then many others but is so without sacrificing the quality of a good product.

This set is complete and comes nicely packaged in a case to keep everything together and organized. The individual parts are heavy duty and well made. No instructions were included, and although the tool will be easy to figure out for most people, it would be nice to have those. Overall pleased with this purchase. This was on my husband’s wish list of tools he would like to have and he is happy.

Having a good quality set of corner clamps is a must in any woodworkers shop. This set is just what every woodworker needs. The beautiful anodized aluminium brackets are etched with milimeter/inch rulings and my set was dead on square. Another reviewer said his was off square by quite a bit. You need to sent the set back to get a true square set. The hand tighteners and aluminium pauls work great. Comes with a nice foam fitted case to neatly store everything. I was really impressed with this corner clamp set for the great price. This set should last me forever.

Corner clamps like this can be a god-send in certain scenarios. Sometimes getting the corners of a project square while holding them and insert fasteners would be a tall order for an octopus, much less us mere bipeds. These let you temporarily secure two or more sides of a box or frame, leaving your hands free to carefully fasten them in place.Initial setup with these (as with all corner clamps of this design) can be a bit fiddly, as you need to get the clamp in place, and then tighten the locking nut while holding the materials in rough position. However, it helps that you don't have to have everything perfectly positioned... Just get it close, lightly tighten, and adjust as needed. Once everything is perfect, drive your screws (or nails, brads, etc).I checked the brackets against several squares in my shop and the set I received appears to be accurate. I don't know if it would be accurate enough for machinist work, but for general woodworking, it's more than precise enough. I like the addition of both metric and imperial scales along the sides of the squares. Typically, I will reach for a ruler for most measurement tasks, but these scales can be helpful, for example in making fastener placement consistent.
