This roll of copper mesh came with a wooden stick to push it into whatever space you are trying to close up. Also, a pair of sharp scissors to cut it. We have some fairly large cutouts under the kitchen sink for the pipes. Round pipe approximately 3" in diameter. Rectangular cut out about twice that size. Not a coincidence we had a problem with mice. Way too large to just stuff steel wool into. This mesh has some stiffness to it and can be shaped to fit larger openings, so it was perfect. Also, if you are going to stuff a hole to keep rodents out, it is important to use copper because it won't rust. Regular steel wool will rust, make a mess and pretty much disintegrate. Copper will not. Copper wool works well in smallish holes. This copper mesh works in larger holes. I'm very happy with this product and I think it will be effective in keeping rodents from getting in through the most obvious entrances.

Review for "Copper Mesh Rodent Control Kit": I received a roll of copper mesh 5" x 32'. A pair of scissors and a wood tool to help push the mesh into cracks is included. This kit is a great tool for blocking entry points where rodents try to get inside. Simply wad up a bunch of this mesh and shove it into any openings around plumbing or wiring that enter your house. Fill any excess gap with this product and the rodents won't be able to enter. This product is also great for preventing slugs and snails from eating your garden plants. Slugs won't cross copper because it carries an electrical change and is uncomfortable to them. I surround my wood raised beds with copper mesh by stapling it to the wood. The slug problem is well controlled this way. It tends to last a couple years before the corrosion decreases the electrical charge that affects the slugs, then I add another piece. A really great and effective product to prevent pests.

I'm optimistic this will help to control slugs and (I hope) to deter the rabbits that are the bane of our garden. The material is very fine and easy to work with, a lot like copper lace. I plan to experiment with it around particular plants (for slugs) and as an extra layer of protection around the exterior fence. I'm pretty confident it will stop slugs- I'm less sure if it will deter rabbits.I'm withholding one star until I see how well this works in practice- the true test will have to come this summer.

This review is for the Copper Mesh Rodent Control Kit - 5 in x 32 ft Copper Mesh Roll, Rust Proof Rodent Proof Wire Mesh, Pure Copper Mesh Wool, DIY Mice Defensive Mesh for Pest Bat Bird and Rodent ControlDurable Real Copper MeshEasy to Cut and ShapeAbout two years ago both my Maine Coon male cats passed away. (They were 18 years old and died of age-related issues). With these dear friends gone the rats were able to flourish and so they did. We were literally invaded. (I live across from a large dairy farm with plenty of grain and feed). I used larger rat traps that I got from Amazon and was able to eliminate over a dozen, but that didn't stop them entirely. When it got to the point that we would hear them in the walls and ceilings and more than just occasionally see them run through the house we had to take extreme measures. So, we called in a friend of my daughters who owns a licensed pesticide/rodent remediation service. Within three months that worked to reduce the problem back to where we don't notice them now. What a relief! However, Jay, our exterminator, recommended we find places where the rodents are getting into our house. The two-story part of my 4400 sq ft home is over 100 years old and has places in the basement where they could and probably are getting in. I have done some patching with steel wool that I already had and that seemed to help. I used that up and needed more patching and for a couple of bigger spots.I ordered this copper mesh for just that reason. I will be applying it to those places and using my air driven stapler to install the mesh permanently, I hope. I understand from Jay and sources on the internet that rats won't chew through steel wool or copper mesh. If this works, it should be the last moves we need to make to stop these interlopers BEFORE THEY GET IN! Time will tell. (I am continuing with Jay's program that has had a substantial effect on stopping the invasion.)For now, I definitely recommend the Durable Real Copper Mesh from Amazon...

I ordered the Copper Mesh Rodent Control Kit - 5 in x 35 ft Copper Mesh Roll, Pure Copper Mesh Wool, Rust Proof Rodent Proof Wire Mesh, DIY Mice Defensive Mesh for Pest Bat Bird Snail and Rodent Contro, and I'm happy with it. I specifically ordered this to use with craft work that I do, and this is exactly what I expected. I was really happy to see that they included scissors so I don't have to use any on hand on metal. The scissors cut very well, and I can actually layer it and it cuts through fine. The only thing to be mindful about is when you cut this a large amount of tiny metal fragments naturally fall all over the place, so you'll want to do it over the garbage. Initially, I did it on the counter and I used a sponge to wipe them up, but the fragments are so tiny I think they stuck on the sponge, and I threw it away worried small particles would land in my food since I use that to wash dishes. Common sense would tell you not to do that, but I was just in the kitchen and that's what unfolded on top of a million other life things on my mind taking up space blocking my brain power. From now on, I will make all my cuts right over the garbage and be mindful of what I'm doing. Overall, this is exactly as expected, and I'm happy with it, thank you.
