This is my first time getting a “cooling” anything and I was honestly surprised at how cool it feels without any ice or water being added. It’s obviously not cold per se but it’s really quite cool to the touch, it’s a bit crazy!My dog loves to cozy up in his bed and under his blankets, even in the summer, but he overheats easily. He wasn’t happy with me removing his cushy bed for something less stuffy so I compromised by putting this on top of his bed. He still burrows in it a little bit and this way I know he’s staying cooler than if he was in there with his winter fleece blankets. It’s very lightweight - definitely can feel the floor right through it though so I wouldn’t compare it to even the thickness of a crate mat really.Overall it’s a great product for a good price and I’d definitely recommend for summer! I have a small space but I think it would be great to lay on furniture too if your pup likes to lie on the couch or bed and you know it’s hot.
