Works well! Love it. Love the sheath, which will be important when the snows arrive in the winter and I have to get out for choir practice.

I bought this for my husband who leads the music at church. He has had a music baton for decades (sans a case) without incident. However, one day the unimaginable happened and it splintered several inches from the tip. His solution was to wrap it in scotch tape. All I could think of was Harry Potter's Ron Weasly scotch taping his wand back together with disastrous results. Now, the broken music wand didn't cause the congregation to sing off key or forget the words. It just looked awful, which would not do. I knew I had to act. "Have phone, will travel", and I had this music baton with metal tube ordered in a flash. It works great! Unless it falls out of his bag in the church parking lot and gets run over, the music baton is safe! Whew! Crisis averted. I saved the day....again. Ta-Dahhh!

I like that it’s durable, but the product descriptions don’t match w the real item. The handle is just cheap glue/plastic kind of material and not ebony as it said. Ok for student conductors, get a real one if you are getting serious about it

The Baton is more for a prop. The balance of the baton is off. Fine for the price.

The only thing I've ever conducted in person, musically speaking, was the accordion band in which I played something like 65 years ago. And trust me, no symphony orchestra is going to be recruiting a grandma of four at this point in time. But here's the thing: Every Saturday night, I'm glued to our TV watching when a beloved orchestra's old TV shows - the ones I loved as a kid - play on the local public TV station. Oh sure, I sing along with the vocals; but when the orchestra leader does a one-and-a-two-and, my arms start waving like crazy. Wouldn't it be fun, I said, if I had a baton like he does? This one, quite reasonably priced, has brought joy to my life (and a few giggles to anyone who happens to be in the room). It's described as "elegant," and it is; made of wood and fiberglass, the ebony handle is comfortable to hold and doesn't slip no matter how forte or allegro the tune. It even comes with a cylinder for storage - how cool is that? I have no doubt that any musical conductor - for real or for fun - would love to have this well-made baton.
