STEP1
Switch the pawl spring to the upper unlock position in order to release the pawl.
STEP2
Flip the handle to the opposite side, hold the trigger simultaneously.
STEP3
Pull out the wire rope.
STEP4
Reset the handle, switch the pawl spring back to original position to lock the pawl.
STEP5
To Release Load:Disengage drive pawls by pulling drive pawl spring.
STEP6
Repeatedly move handle all the way toward stop pawl.

Didn't work. Any weight on the hook caused it to slip and not pull anything. Garbage.

Ratchets in easily but more difficult to pull cable out. After swinging the spring to the pull out position, you have to push and hold the rachet side out of the teeth while pulling out and the other side is too close to the teeth, occasionally catching one so you have to back it up and work it over that tooth. Hard to do all of this with just two hands. Once it was in position, it worked great, easily putting a ton of tension on the cable. The cable is on pulleys to give it a two to on pull ratio. Removing one bolt gives twice the length and faster ratcheting but reduces the strength

I bought this to help me load a 1990 Mustang on to a Uhaul trailer. The car was not running and this worked great. Definitely a bit of a workout but way better than pushing the car up the ramp myself. I will say I went a little overboard by purchasing the 5 ton version but I figured better safe than sorry. My only complaint would be a short cable but nothing a strong tow strap cant fix.

Winch was light, instructions were clear and easy to set up. Incredible power that enabled me to perpendicularly level 10 ft section of retaining wall over 6 days, gradually tightening tension to allow me to add 4x6 bracing on the backside to stabilize section. Loved the safe release feature that releases tension one click at a time. Great design and quality build!

Being a lady of some age but an avid DIY and gardener, I somehow missed that owning one of these would come in handy. After Hurricane Milton destroyed my outbuilding and blew many of my fruit trees down, someone suggested I use a comealong. After researching, I bought this one. Admittedly, havent used it except for one thing YET, so will update after many uses. My first use was to upright myy large mango tree, my favorite one. I pulled my truck up beside the tree since I had nothing else to attch it to. With a little reading and trial and error, I attached the comealong to the hook on the axle. Since the cangle, when doubled was only 6 ft, I used a rachet strap to extened it (I use rachet straps often!) I wraped the strap around the tree trunk about 4 ft up, padding it with an old kneeling pad so it wouldnt harm the tree. I used a sharp shovel to root prune a little all around and then soaked the soil well. This would ensure that it didnt strain the tree overmuch, plus...the tree had been down for almost 2 months as I dealt with storm surge issues from a diff hurricane. Anyway, cranking the tree up wasnt hard at all! Once it was in place, I had other stuff to do so I left it a couple of days to allow the roots to relax. Then I took 3 scrap pieces of 2x4 lumber, and placed them in a triangle against the trunk, lightly digging the bottoms into the ground. Each board was at an angle. I used a couple of extra thick zip ties to secure this, then let the tension out and rmoved the comealong. Success! I will remove the braces next summer, most likely. I still have a few trees yet to pull plus some ither things. I will update later and we will see how well this holds up. So far, its a big win for me. Human strength, even with 4 ppl didnt move the tree but this worked greaat!
