These are the only needles I use for cross stitching. They slide so much better than others I've used. I'll never go back.

Great needles for cross stitch. My needles often bend but these remain straight.

These are my new favorite cross stitch needles. I got them after purchasing the incorrect ones a couple times. The plating helps them glide through the Aida easily & they are a bit more sturdy than my previous ones. Must have for cross stitching. Will definitely buy again.

These are the best needles I've found, I've tried several needles that aren't gold, a few that have gold eyelets, and these. With the gold eyelet needles, the gold coating rubs off quickly. I haven't had any issue with the coating rubbing off on these.

Super quality. Have been using DMC regular and gold plated. Unfortunately those I bought in the last month from a store were very poor quality. Have they started to put out inferior needles?? They were so bad that the floss would break when I pulled thru the eye and I could barely shove my threader thru the eye--the inside of the eye was very rough. So I bought these and they were very nice. Just like dmc used to be. They are smooth, the floss slides thru the eye nicely. These are my go to needles from now on.

I have always used DMC needles in the past for cross stitching. They come with the kits that I buy and I naively assumed that they must therefore be the best tools for the job.For the first time I've been working on an 18-ct piece instead of 14 or 16 so the needle was smaller than I'd used in the past. I recently lost it so needed to purchase a replacement as I had no spare in that size. After much searching, these gold John James needles seemed okay, but I was very worried that they'd be too sharp, as the one I'd been using was more blunt at the tip.Now that I am using one of these needles, it has sped up my stitching to a crazy degree. I am SO HAPPY I lost my DMC needle and bought these as a replacement. The needles are indeed sharper, but instead of being a nuisance, it helps bring the needle up cleanly in tight spots without messing up previous stitches. Also my thread twists A LOT less than it used to, also a time saver. It takes me more time to thread these needles as the eye is smaller (so I might buy a needle threader), but overall it's still a time saving. So far I've not had any problems with the needles bending.

I'm doing counted cross stitch projects and wanted to try these needles to compare them to those not plated in gold. As advertised, they slide through the Aida cloth very smoothly. They have proven to be stronger than the non-plated needles, which have bent after several uses. Some of the cheaper regular needles without the gold have had tips that have been cut off. These needles have smooth, finished ends which easily slip through the Aida.I have tried two brands of these gold-plated tapestry needles and both have been well worth the extra expense.
