water hardness test strips for tap well and residential water

DOES YOUR WATER CONTAIN DANGEROUS BACTERIA?

The water you drink every day could be full of disease-causing organisms without you even knowing. Private water sources can easily become contaminated with E. coli and other types of coliform bacteria.

FIND OUT IF YOUR WATER IS COLIFORM BACTERIA-FREE

This test is ideal for screening your well water, for anyone moving into a new house, or if you have any suspicions about your current drinking water. The EPA tests public water sources regularly to make sure no coliform is present, but you won’t know about your private source until you test it.

Instead of calling out the health department, or sending off to a professional lab, this test can be carried out by anyone with ease. No science degree or lab coat required!

CRYSTAL CLEAR RESULTS IN 48 HOURS

Just pour some of your water into the jar, shake for 20 seconds, then leave at room temperature for 48 hours. If there’s bacteria in your water, it will eat up the nutrients in the jar, turning the water a bright yellow color.

Although it’s not possible to test for E. coli separately, this test will still show you if it’s present. A positive test result means your water contains any coliform bacteria, which may include E. coli.

This is a love/hate relationship. This test works very well.........love.But as my buried well water tanks were contaminated twice last year...........hate only in the sense that I find it uncomfortable to re-test as I hold my breath for the new results. Let me explain.I dread the experience that comes from contaminated water. Tank water gets "shock chlorination" and it's at least six weeks of using someone else's water (hauling for drinking, showering, washing clothes if needed, etc.) while the chlorination is slowing dispersed from the tanks. **Very tedious**Bottom Line: It's a great product and does exactly what it's supposed to do no matter the results. Better to know than not know.

I have a private well, and test the water every 3 months for e-coli. Results are periodically verified with local lab tests. So far, so good.

I tried these out for starters out of curiosity. I work in a lab and we have various coliform bacteria that we use as controls, so I used that as a positive control in one of these. It turned yellow while my tap water samples stayed purple so at least for that aspect they work. I think next time I’ll do a positive and negative control to be more sure but this was a promising result I think.

We had two positive tests from a professional lab on our faucets and a negative test at our well tank (meaning coliform is in our equipment, after the check valve). I purchased these as a control to see if they're accurate. I used two tests, one at a faucet and one at the well tank. Both came back negative. Our faucets were testing at the lab at 5 ppm. These test kits don't list anywhere what their reporting threshold / tolerance level is. Also, the website listed on the brochure (health-metric.com) does not work. Seems like a scam to me: save your money: go test at a professional lab instead.

The 2 day testing time is quicker than most other methods. Gives a good indication.

We just shocked our well and wanted to test to ensure it worked. Tested both right at the well and from the faucet in the house. Easy to use test which was negative in both cases and I now feel confident to drink my water (had already tested minerals).

[-My last review was removed. It's difficult to review a product which tests for coliform bacteria without violating amazon "community guidlines". So I will ****** out some essential words.-]This ****** test is easy to use with clear results. I tested 2 separate water supplies for **** with another companies kit afterwords to compare and verify. Both kits returned the same results in the time frame. They seem to agree, no **** in my water. Good **** test. **** you for reading my review. Have a good ***.

I ordered a pack of 4 and received only one bottle. Still haven’t heard back regarding my refund or receiving the 3 missing bottles. However on the product itself, it was very easy to use. Instructions were clear and after 48 hours you can clearly see the colour or if it has changed. The only thing now is to get 3 more so I can check the taps that don’t have a water filter on.

After shocking my well, I wanted to ensure my water was clear for our EPA water testing. So, I bought these for peace of mind. Instructions were simple to follow, and the test was clearly negative. So was our subsequent EPA testing. I wasn't sure about the test because the material inside the bottle looked like it hit some moisture and was stuck to the sides. After vigorously shaking the bottle, most of the solution dissolved but not all of it. But this test was neg and so was our official test; therefore, I'm going to say it worked well! Be forewarned that the bottle's material smells SO bad and is very strong...wish I wore a mask when opening it!
