if you use the CS tomahawk long enough you ARE going to eventually crack the handle. The handle has good durability but its not as strong as wood or of course metal, but it makes up for that by being light weight.I like the this FDE color better than the original black handle.Do yourself a favor and buy a replacement handle now so you have it on hand when the original breaks. Unless of course you plan on replacing the original handle with a wooden one.

Compre este mango de poliprop. como repuesto para el original de mi Tomahawk Trench. Pague algo más de 5€, un chollo. Ahora veo que ha subido, volverá a bajar. Como garrote solo vale también la pena.

Not sure if the color they add , or a different storage situation may have been the cause but I got it to be a replacement for my original war hawk handle. Broke completely in half after bulling from a very good throw

Although I do not need a spare handle, I wanted to have one around just in case. This is a nice Cold Steel replacement unit, and for the price, it's a cheap insurance policy. I'm happy with it.

I bought this strictly for EDC while riding public transit. It's legal carry, sturdy and just the right length and weight. Will add a paracord lanyard for even easier handling.

Product is as described and arrived quickly.Fits my War Hawk as well as Trench Hawk.I don't tape the handle,but,YMMV.It's best to have a spare or two for all of yourwar/camping/hiking equipment.

Received it already (a full two days ahead of expected delivery date. The piece is genuine CS product. Just the handle. I suspect if you lost your original screw set you could manage with something from a hardware store. The handle is a bit smaller in diameter than I expected (as with the original hawk). Since they are so inexpensive, I dont mind wrapping the thing, thats really the only reason I buy the CS hatchets, they are fun to modify, wrap, stipple, just projects really. They also serve a purpose around camp. The handles are a super tough"polysomething-or-other". Sure you could break them if you cracked one over a rock on a super cold winter morning...but what did that rock ever do to you?
