Nice container which come with a solid stainless steel scoop. Also come with accessories to keep the coffee fresh.Love it

I expected more from this container. The dial on the top is redundant (Or maybe I just drink too much coffee?) - The latch does not feel very well made and as a result I worry about the seal.

I bought this canister to match the Coffee Gator French Press. Like the French Press, the canister has a very sturdy build and looks sharp on my counter top. I like the dials that keep track of coffee expiry dates- very handy. I would definitely recommend.

The container is definitely over-engineered: there are two scales on the lid and they can be used to set the day and month when the beans were put into container or expiration date. However, the year cannot be set and in principle, these scales are not needed anyway: this is a container, not a calendar, plus, coffee lovers consume a pound of beans pretty quickly and I personally, don't need and don't use this "calendar" at all. The same with the stainless scoop - it is too small and not needed at all. I believe these amendments makes the container overpriced. Container is good, it keeps beans fresh and if you don't mind to spend extra bucks for useless features or to support the manufacturer, buy it.Update (after 2 months use)In fact, this canister is great: it keeps coffee so fresh that I don't distinguish aroma and taste of Lavazza beans stored in the container for two month and purchased right now (I intentionally experimented with that). Canister also looks very attractive because of slick and simple cylindrical shape, brushed stainless steel (exactly as shown on the picture), and black enamel on top. It is important that 1 lb canister is able to keep a bit more than a pound of coffee beans because the lid does not go deep inside the canister. Overall, every time I open it I enjoy not only a good espresso, but also look of the canister. Of course, there are the cheaper canisters on the market but this one worth the money I paid even if I don't use the scoop (my espresso machine has build-in coffee grinder) and dials. This canister is definitely of great quality product.

I actually quit drinking coffee a number of years back due to my passing a lot of kidney stones. My doctor gave me a list of food I should avoid and coffee just happened to be one of them. It was not an easy thing to quit as I am one of those people that just LOVE a fresh cup of high quality, fresh ground coffee in the morning. Its now been over 7 years since I have passed a kidney stone and I did cut out like 95% of the food that were on that list my doctor gave me. So I decided to start drinking it again, but only in moderation. Basically just 1 cup in the morning. I wound up buying a really nice coffee maker but since I like to grind my own beans, I needed to buy a storage container. I was initially just going to use some of my stainless steel POP containers, but I decided to do a bit of browsing on Amazon before committing to that route 100% and that is when I stumbled across Coffee Gator's Coffee Canister.The Charcoal Grey color matched perfectly with my Kitchen since my Kitchen is basically designed around marble counter tops and stainless steel appliances. And I loved that it came with its own scoop and two containers, one for the unground beans and a smaller one where you could store a small amount of ground coffee. The larger container has a fantastic seal on it. Its nice and tight, but not so tight that its difficult to open. In fact its incredibly easy to open. That seal will ensure your coffee stays fresh. The smaller container has a screw off top, but its extremely easy to thread it properly and it also has a great seal. And they really do have a really fantastic visual design. They look fantastic on your counter top.Bottom line - I am sure there are probably hundreds of different containers out there that one could use for storing beans or ground coffee and I am sure most would work pretty well. Its not like creating these types of storage containers is actually difficult. That being said, I wound up going with Coffee Gator's storage container for a number of reasons. First, I thought the overall design looked really nice and it matched the design of our kitchen perfectly. 2nd, I love that it came with a smaller 2nd container for left over ground coffee or you could use it to grind a few days worth of coffee so you don't have to grind coffee every single morning.The container is small enough that the coffee in it isn't going to start degrading in quality by the time your done using it all. 3rd, it came with its own scoop, which we keep stored right in the main coffee bin. And after getting it and seeing it first hand, they really are quality containers through and through. If your looking for a storage container for your coffee, wether it be beans of ground coffee, you really can't go wrong with this model. In fact, I plan on buying 2 more this upcoming Christmas and giving one to each of my sisters as they are both coffee connoisseurs and their coffee containers just aren't as nice as these are. All in all, just a fantastic set that will make most coffee drinkers very happy!5 Stars!!

Like all of you reading this review, I am a coffee nut! I not only need to start my day with a cup of coffee, but that cup of coffee needs to be perfect.I belong to a coffee club that delivers freshly roasted beans to my doorstep every two weeks. I need to keep those beans fresh. To date, I have been storing those beans in an airtight glass container. However, after all these years of constant use, I don't feel very secure about the gasket seal on the container and that it's keeping my beans as fresh as they can be.I just happened, in the past month, to be browsing through Amazon when I came upon this product. I figured that I had nothing to really lose by giving this Coffee Gator a try.Now having used it for over a week now, I am very happy. This is a lightweight, quality built stainless steel canister. It holds just short of 1lb. worth of coffee beans. Though this is not a vacuum sealed device, the lid does provide an air-tight closure that is meant to keep your beans as fresh as the day they are roasted.On the top of the canister is a date wheel that gives you an "at-a-glance" reminder of when those beans were originally stored.Know what the best part of this canister is? The included scoop. No kidding. Up until buying this canister, I was basically pouring beans into the grinder and hoping I got the measurement right. Now, for my 16oz. mug of coffee, I use two full scoops and it makes the perfect cup.Yes, if you yearn for the freshest brew, you need to purchase this canister. It is an essential part of your daily coffee "grind."

Absolutely love this coffee canister! Keeps my beans nice and fresh and fits in well with my black and stainless steel kitchen. It comes with a free scoop as you can see on the main image. It's also a lot bigger than I was expecting so can fit a full bag of coffee in it! I can't fault this product at all, it even has really cool branding! COFFEE GATOR? Genius! 5 stars from me!
