The pressure to my water softener was too high so I decided to install a pressure regulator with a gauge. I tried two others sold by Amazon and found they were a waste of my money and time. As others reported, the threads were not cut properly and the gauges were useless. One gauge even filled with water. So I returned them. Then I found the CMI regulator with push fit ends. I installed the regulator in a few minutes and adjusted the pressure with the red knob. Although the vendor advertises these regulators primarily for applications like RVs, it is working great for me on the main water line coming into my house. It is somewhat more expensive than the ones that I returned but definitely worth the cost.
