Product appears good quality, included hardware for different installation scenarios, and pretty good instructions. (Didn't say first step is to remove the light's cover.). Nonetheless , easy to install. LED very bright white light. Inside closet, goes on immediately when opening door, after exiting or shutting door, light goes out after 30 seconds. Liked that screw holes line up with ones in a standard round ceiling box.

I've always hated the light I had in my entry. Once I installed this, it worked perfectly. It was just what I wanted. I simply leave the switch on and when we get home, instant light. Shuts off a couple of minutes after you leave the area. Fits flush and is unabtrusive. I like it so much that I think I'll buy more for my stairwells.

Mounted in pantry closet to existing electrical box. Sensor works beautifully, plenty of illumination, stays on for 35 seconds after motion stops. Great product.

Purchased 2 in 2021 and used in the laundry room and a closet. Light is very bright - Love that. Was easy to install (instructions were very good). Motion sensor worked great at first. But this past year, 2023, the light KEEPS GOING OFF SHORTLY AFTER I ENTER THE ROOM. Does not seem to sense slight motion, I have to wave my hand for it to go back on. So when I have to do a quick retreival from the closet or laundry room, I'm in the dark and it comes back on when I'm leaving. (TOO LATE). I use the closet for sewing since it's a walkin closet. Before, light would stay on just from my motion where I was sewing. But this past year (2023), I have to wave at it. The one in the laundry room did the same thing. Before, I could put clothes to wash, move from the washer to the dryer and fold/hang clothes out of the dryer. But in 2023, the motion sensor was not sensitive enough. I had to keep waving at it even though I'm standing under the light. Had to replace both lights because it's too aggravating. AND, I emailed Cloudy Bay because they have a 5 year warranty but have not heard back from them. It's been over a month.

Disclaimer: not sure if this is UL rated or safe for lighting spaces for more than a minute or two at a time. Choose your own destiny.I bought four of these lights for my closets to replace old pull-chain lights. I was able to replace all of these in just a couple of hours with minimal struggles. Mind you, I'm no electrician or lighting expert, just your average 30-something woman. The instructions were pretty clear, and even absent a degree in rocket science, I was easily able to figure out the install. I used a screwdriver and cordless electric driver, plus some tools to check that the power was off, and that's about it. There is a chance that you might need longer mounting screws, depending on the placement of the electrical box, but I was able to make it work with the screws provided. The screws didn't line up the best everywhere, but with some time and a little silent raging, I got them lined up well enough to where the sensor was pretty close to being centered at the front. The sensor works really well, and honestly, a little too well for me because I have hideous louvered closet doors that the sensor could "see" through. I solved that problem, though, with a little masking tape and just covered the front of the sensor to where now it doesn't detect the movement until the door is open and you stick a hand in. It's perfect. The light stays on for about 30 seconds after the last movement is detected.I think others had commented about how the light gets hot --- this is really meant for use in areas that won't be lit up for long periods of time. Closets. Scary areas under the stairs. Not for high traffic areas. The instructions are pretty clear about that if you read them. For me, these lights worked out great.

I'm in the process of updating an old 1967 ranch style home, and when I purchased it about 3 years ago I was told by the appraiser that the exposed, pull string lights in all the closets were no longer to code. As there are no light switches for my closets, I was essentially stuck replacing these with another form of pull string fixture.I got to thinking that something motion activated would be ideal, and even went as far as getting a battery powered motion detection light bar... and it sucked. It barely lit the area and I had to wave my hand in front of it to activate it. And then it died. And its corpse remained in this closet until now.Having learned how to hard-wire electrical fixtures very recently, I was updating all the old fixtures in the house. A closet remodel has been on my list, and that pull string still bothered me a ton. I found this on amazon and decided to give it a try.Super easy install. Installs like most other fixtures in the sense you mount the ceiling bracket and then mount the fixture to it. This is the first I've installed where you just line up and twist it on, which wasn't too much of a hassle. I went and flipped the power back on, went back upstairs to my closet, and as I peeked around the bi-fold doors, the light came on.Since being installed, it does not seem super sensitive which I like. the closet is old, hollow-core bi-fold doors, and the light does not trigger once the door is opened, only once I lean into the closet like I'm going for something. The light is very bright, lighting up the entire closet regardless of the boards that could easily block most of this light. As far as when it turns off, I don't know. I'm usually long gone by then, but I'd imagine it's as described.I'm thinking about getting a few more of these for other areas of the house.
