It does seem to somewhat help keep the horseflies away, but if they're hungry enough, they'll still come at you, even with the dragonfly over your head. It will reduce your horsefly problem, but not eliminate it.

We tried the four pack of dragonflies as the horse flies were really bad on our acreage, especially around our pool. They did nothing, besides break and fall apart. Don’t waste your money, they don’t last or work!

Koodoos to whoever thought of this. It works to keep the big flies away. Only reason I did'nt put 5 stars is the clip is a but big for smaller hats. Maybe make a smaller version for kids and smaller size hats. Regardless you can make it work.

We live in an area that thas so many deer and horse flies. But we also hate using deet and other chemical bug sprays that seem to be the only way to keep the flies at bay. I was interested to see if these would help.So far I've used them at multiple beaches, on walks and at parks. Without fail if we are being bothered by flies, we pull these out and clip them nearby and the flies dissappear.Pros100% workCons Cheap appearanceWe've already recommended these to multiple friends. They do look Cheap but are holding up so far to being placed into and removed from bags. They go everywhere with us.

We tried these on a walk through the woods on horseback. Did not deter deer flies or horse flies.

You may feel like you look foolish with a large artificial dragonfly clipped to your hat, but it really works and is so worth it. I work in the garden and often bothered by horseflies as big as my thumb. Clipping the Wingman Dragonfly to my hat so it bobs over my head had scared away the horseflies. It even kept many of the smaller pesky bugs away (not 100%, but made my afternoon more tolerable).I am going to purchase more as gifts to my family and friends who like to spend time hiking, camping and gardening.

On an isolated island off Stonington, ME for three full days mid-June, and not a single bite!I had hoped to put the Wingman to the test. But there was no test to be had!NO BUGS!!!However, after all the hype, it did get a huge laugh!I'm gonna keep trying.
