I had recently purchased a used VCR that had a greenish line on the top of the picture no matter the cassette. I read it could have been the head in the VCR was dirty so I purchased this VCR cleaner. Took a couple times of playing it but after a few times I played a tape I seen the discoloration on and it's completely gone!

We have tons of older VHS tapes and our player just stopped showing the picture, but the sound was on. I watched some videos online and figured the symptoms most closely matched "dirty heads" so I bought this since it had the most ratings. The ONLY reason I'm not giving it four stars is that it didn't clean the heads enough when I followed the instructions. A video mentioned running the cleaner tape using the "record" button so I did, and I did it a little longer than the instructions on the box said. Voila, working VCR again! I definitely recommend this product as a low cost way to trouble shoot picture issues with your VCR.

I can not give any better rating about its quality as it did not do the job of cleaning of VCR Heads; tried it as per provided directions but it did not make any difference at all to the condition of the VCR Heads which remained the same as before; that said I cannot be sure whether the problem is with the cleaner or that the heads are dirty beyond the cleaning capacity of the cleaner. Anyway, this purchase was not money well spent.

I have a VHS player built into an older model TV. It worked beautifully until I found a movie I had not seen for awhile. It was not in a box like my other movies. As soon as I put it in the player I realized the tape had dirt on it. The machine was jammed and I was unable to watch any movies. I purchased the VHS head cleaner and followed the directions. Unbelievable to me, after one 30 second cleaning the player works like new. I definitely recommend this product.

If I didn't have my Old "SCOTCH (Dry) VCR Head Cleaner Plus" as my old standby, I would be in complete meltdown about now. I bought this "CleanDr. brand" to assist my "1993 SCOTCH (Dry) VHS Head Cleaner", just in case it could not take many more uses down the road, but clearly I was mistaken. My "27-years-old" SCOTCH brand Cleaner (used sparingly over the years) had to do the job of coming to the rescue after "CleanDr." almost ruined my "old 1999-2000" but very nice "Panasonic VCR". I was so happy that I could get my taped videos to show a picture again after all that SNOW and Static almost wrecked it from using the "brand new" CleanDr. VHS Head Cleaner. It could be that I bought a piece of junk CleanDr. versus a genuine item, in prime working order; BUT that doesn't excuse sending out LEMONS to people. They all should be checked out before being sold.

The product seemed to be credible when I was reading from other consumer's feedbacks which helped me able to discern to trust the company's product. So far the result is that it viably worked by following the instructions where you insert the head cleaner tape into the VCR console press play for 30 secs then ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND TO REWIND THE HEAD CLEANER TAPE AS SOON YOU'RE DONE WITH IT! This product claims to be used about 30 times before buying another replacement. It cleaned out the dust, debris, dirt, etc which is normal but I find within every month it needs maintenance to clean the VCR player to ensure it still works in good condition viably! After I followed the steps somehow the screen was still distorted the footage was shaking on the screen and the audio was erratically off the track, but then I gave it a light smacked all of a sudden the footage on the screen was restored!Weird & cryptic science... Somehow it worked just needed for the dust to be extracted.Keep track to ensure that the VCR player is dust-free!

I still have a VHS player because I kept my VHS collection. CleanDr. safely cleans the heads of my VHS player so I can get the best possible picture. They use a dry cleaning technology that is better for the machine and tapes and you don't need to buy the liquid cleaning fluid. It is easy it use. All you do is put it in your machine and press play. Count for 20 seconds and rewind and eject. It will remove dirt, dust, and whatever else has builtup inside your machine. The product is good for 30 uses.

It is a good product but unfortunately for me, my VCR needs work. I do like the product and will be using it once my VCR is repaired. Wish I would have purchased it earlier because it probably would have saved me from the head he I now have.
